I feel like this category should be the runway of the first episode because it gives us the chance to see who the queen is and what her style is. Design challenges don't do that, they just feel like an entrance exam for the show as Ru constantly reminds the queens to be bring sewing skills. But for the audience it just shows if the queen can sew or not, it doesn't show what they prepared to show and their distinct style of drag.

I feel like I've bitched a lot about AS3 over the years, but god Shangela losing the crown after coming out in the STUNNING pocket dress is just so wrong to me. I really do believe that it was her crown, after Dela of course. To see her growth over the years starting as just a baby on Season 2, to her on S3 and then AS3 is phenomenal to see. And in my eyes deserved a crown for that. I will also make the same case about Manila Luzon but that is for entirely different reasons. PS. Akeria C. Davenport's look here is SO fucking good. 2 things: 1. Anyone else clock Ru and Michelle calling Delta Work “Ann Margaret after the buffet?” SHADE! 2. Can’t remember who it was from season 10 that said it but the queens that season were told the theme for that runway was “Signature Drag” rather than “Best Drag” - big difference.
