Here’s my problem with sending the stronger competition home. When there are controversial eliminations like this it taints the crown regardless of who wins. Now which ever queen wins all they’ll hear is, “well if Manila wasn’t sent home” or “the only reason you won is because Manila was robbed”. Ask Trixie how many times she’s heard the names Shangela or Dela. That’s why I’m with Trinity on this. If I was on drag race I’d want to beat the best so no one could question my reign.

The problem with that strategy is that whoever is left at the end of the season is just mediocre if all the best competitors are out, so whoever wins is not the most deserving of winning, just someone who survived because they weren't good enough to be chopped off.

Also, they were talking about Monet's Judy lipsynch as very simple and muted and stoic, but what they missed what that she was capturing the essence of Judy Garland's later years. This is the first time that I have been watching the Drag Race and All-Stars seasons that I was stunned by a decision. Love Latrice but Manila just had one poor outfit out of a fabulous run. Latrice stated that she saved Manila but the Hive concept, implementation etc seems to have fallen to the side like used facial tissues. It is a lot of work. For me, it was more about favoritism and getting rid of competition. Michelle's face is pretty much how many of us felt. If the comparison was close, I would not be writing anything. Trinity said it best, about keeping the best and beating the best. The crown would be earned by the most talented.

The real T about being scared to send the strongest competitor home is how the fans will take it. RPDR can have a very toxic fanbase and while 100,000 is damn nice, it can be scary to be hated by the drag race community for playing dirty. However, this is the way All Stars is played. It isn't a normal season of Drag Race where the best queen is supposed to win, All Stars already assumes all the queens are the best, and it's supposed to be who plays the game the best. Fans have just been spoiled in AS2 and even AS3 where most of the decisions were made based on the concept of being "fair". Basically, you can complain about Naomi played the game, but that's all she was doing was playing the game the way it was presented to her. Feel bad for Manila? Don't attack Naomi online, go buy some Manila merch or go see one of her shows. That's the best way to prove Manila is an All Star.

Literally Manilla has suggested doing the same thing a couple weeks back, and being that she was on top multiple times she had plenty of opportunities to do so. All Stars has this new elimination process for a reason. AS2 was riddled with these eliminations, Tatianna's elimination, Alyssa's second elimination, and even AS3 with Bendela eliminating herself, and the Jury. All Stars can go any way you want just as long as you eliminate the right queens.

If people truly didn't like the way queens are eliminated on All Stars, then they'd modify it, just like AS1 when nobody liked the idea of pairs. If everyone went based on track record or doing a sub-par job on the current challenge, then Ru could just go back to judging it herself. This is one of the easiest ways to "shake things up" because it gets people talking. The format needs to change, lip syncs for your life need to be the standard. Imo this was the best decision from a competition point of view. Latrice has gone home already, and to me, hasnt learned from it. Shes still turning sequin gowns so she isnt really that much of a threat so sending her home would have been a wasted vote because youre right in saying shes learned nothing. But Manilla is legendary already, and was sorta viewed from the cast announcement as the AS4 Winner. She had the most wins followed by Trinity with 3 in her run on the show. Eliminating the top competitor when they have a bit of an off week is absolutely the best thing to do because it doesnt give them a chance to come back from it and send your ass home. You eliminate your biggest threats and the playing field becomes more level.

I was super shocked the first time I saw a clip of Manila's elimination, and I initially didn't want to watch AS4 after seeing her stats and that elimination. But now that I've finally watched the series itself, her elimination kinda completed a circle and opened a door. Manila HAD previously considered the strategy of eliminating strong competition when the opportunity presented itself. Unfortunately for her, even though she didn't push through with it, someone else did it to her. She's still a winner in my heart though

I think the reason why people don’t want to send home the strongest ones is also because you will come off as a coward and insecure. That’s why Trinity is respected. She wants someone to stay separate and apart from being friends, but because she wants a real fight and competition, not easy/ undeserved win. Just think Morgan’s strategy is for people who don’t truly feel they beat the competitors, and don’t have what it takes to beat the best and stay on top.

Naomi's even in Manila's new music video. Since the show was filmed a while back I would bet my wig on the music video having been filmed after so Manila obviously holds no grudges. Part of me thinks if it was deliberate as Manila expected Naomi to get heat from fans. Shady or not, this was the seasons first bold power move. An actual all star decision. I really wanted Manila to win, but even if she stayed this episode her and trinity would have tied track records. That’s the thing though, everyone became so used to “track record.” They rested on it and automatically assumed they would be safe because if it. Which is never a good thing to do in any competition, especially if it is still ongoing. Honestly, this was what the show needed to generate excitement. This was reality TV at its finest. Naomi did everything right this episode, and it benefited her at that moment in time. She delivered for the main stage, performed an exceptional lip sync, eliminated the strongest competitor, repaid her debt to Latrice , increased her chances of winning, and made a show changing decision. She eliminated one of the obvious winners of the crown guys... that speaks volumes on how much blinded power she just executed in a short minute. These are the few moments where a Contestant has taken Rupauls meta narrative and twisted it. These are one of the few moments Rupaul can’t do anything without blatantly telling America that the shows fixed. This episode gave me chills.

I agree, but at the same time, I think fans should be allowed to express disappointment that a queen who clearly deserved to make it farther in the competition was eliminated for strategic reasons. I get that the AS format allows for that, but as a fan of the show, it is disappointing to see the strongest performers get cut simply because they are fierce and sickening. I *want* the fiercest, most sickening queens to make it to the finale! Of course, no one should bully or harass Naomi online over this, but I think we should be allowed to say that we're disappointed in her choice.

I think Monet deliberately did a mediocre performance in the lip synch. Because she didn't want to make this kind of decision. If Valentina would be there at the bottom two, she would have slayed it, or at least put more energy to it. Also, I think Ru has made a favor to Trinity by not selecting her as top two. In case of her winning the lip synch, she would have to make this choice.
