I'm of Afro-Guyanese and Bajan heritage learned today that my father is half Bajan and my paternal grandfather and his side of the family were born and raised Bajans. Proud to be a part of this culture. Always listened to Ruppe but completely forgot he was Bajan.

I celebrated my 30th in Barbados staying at a villa on Sandy Lane August of 2012 and in that moment I became a cousin to that island.. I heard this song so many times during the parades, juvie', etc... It's encompasses my ENITRE time on the island.. I absolutely LOVED my Bajan experience!!!!!! Will be going back again...

Feeling the true spirit and warmth of beautiful Bims inside my soul as i hear this tune. Although i am not Bajan, infact i am a British born Asian- Barbados feels like my home away from home. So welcoming, full of beauty and definately the gem of the Caribbean. Best food, best soca music, best island ever!
