I find the eq and compressor on these to be really forgiving on non acoustic sources so these are linked up to my synth patch bay 👌 good stuff

Would be interesting to hear how much character you get when stacking up tracks in a mix. On a different note, would love to hear you try the new AML 1066eq on a variety of sources (including a mix?)

Oh interesting, I didn’t know AML released a new EQ. I’ll check it out
@@user-fy6ni8mg8l Nice! Thanks for joining, I’ll have to check them out!

how do you think the overall sound compares to a 1073 max?
@maxbauhof7 күн бұрын
Rupert neve is generally cleaner overall

the master at work :) are the silk colors like saturation with different pre-emphasis? red = HF pre- and de-emphasis, blue = LF pre- and de-emphasis EQ?
@maxbauhof2 жыл бұрын
That’s a good question, I guess I always assumed it was two levels of harmonics, blue being lighter and red hitting a little harder. Maybe someone on here can clue us in.

red silk saturate higher range , and blue one saturate low range

Hi Dude, I was just looking at you Heritage Audio Britstrip. How does the diode bridge compressor compare? They were on very different drums, and settings, so it was hard to tell from the video. Thanks

I like the bridge diode compressor for Rupert neve on modern stuff but for more interesting sounding sources I didn’t really dig it for whatever reason. This channel strip is quiet as hell though and the eq is useful IMO. The heritage compressor has more bite and tone, and I think the heritage in general has more grit and tone. If you want a grittier sound get the heritage, IMO. Hope that helps

@@maxbauhof it does. It's kind of what i was thinking based on your two videos, but it's nice to have it confirmed by someone who actually used them. Thanks

I love that blue silk. It's the 1073 vibe.

It’s nice! Do you use any of the Rupert neve stuff?

@@maxbauhof I almost bought the RMP-D8 a few months ago. I much prefer the BAE versions of his gear. I feel the newer designs are lacking the character.

Agreed, I think it’s good for hi fi modern productions that need a nice clean professional sound but it doesn’t have enough funk for me

@@theblowupdollsmusic i see people saying they like the bae 1073 better than the shelford, that shelford just sounds like a fat or dark portico, which is nice but the bae 1073 has the real vintage sound. Do you know any good audio examples of bae 1073? i cant really find any that show me this vibe its said to have. Or even point me to an old recording that has the vibe of a real vintage neve 1073 on the vocal so i know what people are talking about

Udes this for a while at a voice over / dubbing studio. Found the EQ points pretty awkward, magically adjacent to what I needed for any given voice. The pre amp its-self sounds fantastic, very clean with a little bit of harmonics so it pops out of the mix. Compression sounds fine but nothing special to me.

Word, think it’s good for modern productions. I don’t disagree with your assessment, for drums and bass I found the frequency points nice, I actually liked the bridge diode compressors on this more than I have in the past. I like how it dealt with the low end. If you want something modern and clean and can relatively stay out of with a bit of harmonics in think it would hit expectations.
