My view has always been that people are people the world over.. I bear no animosity to russians, americans, japanese, chinese, or anything in between. Having said that, I also respect the differences between the russian, american, japanese and chinese. If we are to retain culture, then boundaries have to be set, and those boundaries are borders. Globalism is not an answer, it is something to be opposed. Britain recognised that, and Brexit happened. If you come to a future night at the proms and bring a Russian flag, you'll be welcomed. If I see an EU flag there, I will attempt to burn the thing; Britain has more in common with Russia than it does with the EU. Um, but we are not socialist, or communist........... just saying.

@edwinrex2579 I'm afraid you're not, Anglo Saxon genes, even in the most English areas only account for a maximum of 40% of your genetic makeup, it can be as low as 10%. @@howarddavies8937 The Bythonic figure only reaches 20% on average in England, it’s only higher in Cornwall. According to Ancestry DNA, the English still owe the majority of their heritage to the Anglo-Saxons, as well as France, Germany and Scandinavia anyway. The only country in Britain with a Brythonic majority is Wales, but we all knew that already anyway. So only 20% of modern British ancestry, let alone English, is derived from the Britons whilst the AS figure is the highest and the remaining origins are from France and Germany anyway (along with nearly 10% from Scandinavia). “English people have significantly less Brythonic ancestry - just 20 per cent of their genetic make-up - on average compared to people living in Scotland (43.84 per cent), Wales (31.99 per cent) and Northern Ireland (48.49 per cent).” “But residents of England do have the highest amount of Scandinavian (9.39 percent) and French/German ancestry (20.45 percent).”

First I feel very proud to see a Maltese tenor sing British patriotic songs.I Agree with you 100% Malta was Britain's favourite colony because we helped the British to win the war and Malta was also the only country (outside UK) that HRH Queen Elizabeth ever lived the only bad thing was that we didn't became a one country in 1956 God Save Britain God Save the Queen from Malta 🇲🇹🇬🇧

Well sung Sir. I wish more people understood the significance of the greatest merchant fleet in history , instead of it being the butt of "hello sailor" jokes. The British trading fleet was enormous and significant in what you are singing about. As Michael Caine reputedly said " not many people know that" .
