The laser-sharp elegance of Rupert's questions to guide a confused mind into self-investigation through the experience of solidity without reference or location in space! As hard as the questioner's mind seems unable to fully understand and properly follow the directions, his inexorable questions, in their simplicity and beauty, reveal consciousness revealing itself, as (the apparent) Mr. Spira, with patience, sharp love, keeps meeting the questioner where she is-yet, unwavering-and points to the highest healing for that very confusion.

Beautiful, Rupert. “Is there anything to your experience of your body other than the knowing of it?” That is elegant, swift, direct. There is. It is the experience of the (mind of the) other. You can choose to stay lost in your mind, but when you encounter other minds, and they all agree your leg is broken, then in this shared reality there is a shared truth that is independent of your mind's experience.

You mean those pauses. The standard bullshit power move he pulls before he winds down his standard bullshit guru program of telling people that they do not really exist yet they are part of something bigger and their problems just manifest, because they haven’t got that by now. @@kwixoticFrom my point of few, calling it applied scepticism might be more accurate. I’m accusing this quacksalver of being motivated purely by self-interest yes, admittedly I can not rule out that he actually believes that he has mysteriously powers that allows him to see the universe in the way he displays it. Given that his version of reality is in odds with actual science, that “power” would be called: delusion, and is barely an excuse for his shady business model clearly targeting people who deserve better than this nonsense. Actual insight is in no need of conjuror tricks of the cheapest kind like Spira is using on a regular basis. My hope is that, someone who needs actual help, might see Spira as the hot air producing useless quack that he is, before wasting ones time and money in him. I hope you detect the noble altruism in this, as you did with “a certain cynicism”.

@@derhafi You state that you "can not rule out that he actually believes he has mysterious powers", etc., but can you prove it? Until then, you're merely speculating about what you've termed his "conjuror tricks." I will concede that what's being offered in the retreats(which I attended on one occasion) is in fact no panacea. I experienced an ephemeral bliss on that occasion. However, I recently had some neurological based issue which in my experience could not be resolved regardless of how much self inquiry based meditation I was doing and have been doing for years. But I think Rupert would also readily acknowledge the limitations to his approach in the face of medical issues and in fact has done so though perhaps not to the extent you'd wish for.

Rupert always speaks metaphorically. There are no solid objects, only fields of action. This was determined back in the 1930s with quantum field theory. These fields of action (words being proxy for the reality) are possibly the "screen" that Rupert constantly refers to. Our bodies, thoughts, actions are all part of this array of intermeshed fields. There is no supernatural realm, only here and now in the beautiful interplay of multiple "energetic" fields of action. Some of these fields of action are immortal, which is to say they act instantaneously across all time and matter. These fields may be the source of intuition, forecasting, telepathy, etc..

Without judging disease as good or bad and by accepting it with pure love, even pain can be considered a gift of experience. Obviously, as Rupert stated, we must take care of the body when it is sick, but the idea of labeling the pain and sickness as negative/suffering comes from fear out of the ego and not pure awareness/consciousness. And besides, the body can't live forever! Something will eventually kill it off. That's why we're able to experience love through the sacredness of life. I'm not trying to preach, just trying to understand as well! Please add or refute to help me out.

My Dearest Beloved In the Omnipresence of God there can be no darkness. Darkness is belief but belief is not Truth. All ill forms are illusions and must be seen as such. It is a distorting seeing of a mind ladened w beliefs and it is the release of those distorting beliefs that results in true seeing the eternal and everpresent Perfection of Being here and now ---only God Is. There is only the I Am Life the God Life nothing else is true. The release of faulty beliefs can be done through forgiveness which can be explored more via ACIM or in Silence which can be explored more www.miracleself com or in prayers sincerely asking for the truth of any situation for true seeing or understanding and trust that the answer will be given in one form or another that you will know beyond amy doubt. Finite mind must vanish before infinite consciousness can be Realized. Avatar Meher Baba said it best when he discoursed: “Mind wants to know that which is beyond mind. To know that which is beyond mind, mind must go-vanish, leaving no vestige of itself behind. The humour of it is, the mind, which is finite, wants to retain itself and yet know Truth, which is infinite. This is the position of those who seek Truth through intellect. Few grasp this fact, and so most grope and grapple in vain. “ -Meher Baba

What a great question: “Why use me?” A perfect set-up question. I only wish Rupert had jumped on that question and chased it further down the rabbit hole of Non-Duality. E.g., There is no “me” to use, only infinite Consciousness pretending to be all the “me’s” in this room, while forgetting its own true nature. Infinite Consciousness did not select ‘you’ out of some cosmic storage room filled with individual, ready-to-wear “me’s”, but, instead, localized or filtered its own infinite Self into a unique and newly-imagined body and mind called, ‘Josephine’ (whatever the lady’s name is), through which you now see and talk to this ‘me’ (Rupert pointing to himself). And, this ‘me’ consists of the exact same infinite Self filtered through a different body/mind called ‘Rupert’ that is talking to ‘you’. In reality, there is only one infinite Person in this room - talking to Itself. (Yes, Rupert did respond to this great question, but only reluctantly as a passing comment.)

This method does not exactly heal the body or mental problems or moral evil. It only relativizes them. It makes you live for a certain moment without the knowledge of all those problems in your thoughts, but it cannot get rid of their effect even when they are being transcended. One can ignore that the person is with certain illness like a child but the illness nevertheless is harming the child. The same with moral evil. Regardless of relativizing things that at any given moment are opposite to peace and love, like being angry for no good reason or too worry or anxious, does not deal with the issue, it only covers it, the evil and anxiety is still undercover. The path of liberation is found in another not in me nor by me, it has to come and He has come and done it completely in all the realms of existence.

The finite mind is how the infinite realizes its actual potential?? The error in this statement he makes is breathtaking! To begin with, there is no "finite" "mind". The infinite does not need the "finite", which doesn't exist. Infinite being is not understood through imagined limitation. The infinite knows itself without a medium. It does not need a "medium" of a nonexistent entity or thing in order to know itself.

True and the opposite also ... The infinite knows itself by being itself, but doesn’t know the finite ... if it would know the finite as itself, it would not be infinite. To know the finite, the infinite withdraws into itself and dreamily it creates the circumstances to experience the finite, and in order to experience the finite it must overlook itself as infinite. To return the other way around, the process itself is the same. The finite has to realise its true nature and has to finds its way back to the infinity by realizing that it was never finite.

Yes indeed. Rupert's presentation here is fundamentally flawed. The statements like 'Infinite realizes (make real), actualizes ( make actual) implies the Unlimited, the Infinite needs the help of imagined limitations to make Itself 'real' or 'actual' which also implies The Absolute needs the imagined body- mind ego to make Itself real or actual. He's not aware that he's actually imparting the Reality to a non-existent ego as if the Infinite Absolute Reality NEEDS the ego to make Its existence real or actual. His understandings are growing out of a greatly flawed foundation . it's not small, simple flaw but that of a foundational scale. He's making an imaginary ego as an interdependent necessity to help The Absolute to be made real or actual. This is a complete dualistic approach spoken from the point of the ego.

@@joajoajb oh, do you really know the Absolute? great! It seems to me (??) that you (??) are dualistic in each word you tell. and me also am, obviously ;) If you do get the words and don't get the analogy through which they may convey some intuition of the Reality ... sorry, you are still in a limited perspective. I think you should know the sanscrit word "Lila". What does it mean, according to your mind? Namaste. :)

@@ferdinandocoluccelli9574 thank you for shining a point of view. I do agree in the light that I'm sure rupert' s intentions were nothing less than compassionate in wanting to share his understanding . he often makes statements regarding the Self as the highest and it needs no other agencies to realize( make real) itself because it is eternally aware of itself without any other agencies by its very nature of being aware. But in this presentation he contradicts himself by stating the Infinite needs the imagined limitations to realize or actualize itself. Whether he's aware of the implication of this statement or not , this statement implies the Infinite needs the imagined limitations of body- mind ego to realize or actualize itself. This makes the imagined ego an absolute necessity to help The Infinite Absolute to be actualized as actual or realized as real. Like I said I'm sure his intentions were nothing less than the best in his own light, but sometimes , unintentional errors however big or small can have a devastating effects to those genuinely interested in realizing the Absolute Truth. In response to the word ' lila' (play) , I see such cruelties and suffering across all forms of life every moment . Countless life forms show up only to be eaten alive screaming in pain from the top of their lungs to no avail and yet it goes on and on endlessly ever since the history can remember. I share Buddha' s observation on this matter " existence is suffering, and Ignorance is the root cause". Thank you for your observation.

Is strange and contradictory to speak of "consciousness wanting to know other than..." how can something that is infinite and perfect knowing wants to know other than itself if consciousness itself must know by necessity even what is not? Does consciousness lack knowledge? At what point in infinity did he lacked knowledge or wanted to know something that did not know already? God knows every other level from the infinite opposite covering all degrees to Himself already. He knows infinitely what He is not, as part of His knowledge of who he is.

But why does infinite and formless consciousnes want to see anything else apart from itself if there is truly nothing else apart from formless & infinite consciousness?? Can't just consciousness stay as infinite and formless which is its true nature rather than giving birth to entity called mind through which infinte consciousness experience various finite experiences??As rupert said through human beings consciousness realizes its infinite/finite potential. It means is there somebody else who is running the show?why does consciousness wants to know its power/potential??In other words Does consciousness create these so called finite objects i.e world(human beings and other finite objects) for its own recreation bcz it gets bored of being infinite & foamless or is there any other purpose ??Pls somebody reply.

I find that to take in deeply what Rupert says, I have to relax to feel a certain degree of inner peace so that I can really listen. Then I have to give what he is saying my full attention. I also have to be aware of my habitual ingrained mind constructs so that I can put them aside to take in new information. Then I have to allow a spirit of openness and receptivity so that I can connect with Awareness to allow everything to really sink in so that it can have more impact then just another of the many youtube videos I watch. As long as we consider ourselves separate, living in separate minds, we need concepts to communicate about experience. The concept is not the experience and the word or the image is a symbol for the concept, so twice removed from the experience. The concept is limited, the experience is limitless. The word symbolises the limits, a piece cut out if the whole. The word can never be the same as the experience. If you keep the concept and the word and throw away the experience, you bypass life, lose the real thing, here and now

Even animals "interpret" their experience. They have to distinguish between the sensation of an headache and the sensation of the claws of another animal on their skins. For survival. So it is not only humans, that do the "interpretation". Do animals get enlightenment?. Can anyone from a primitive tribe be in a non-dual state as suggested in these talks? No matter what you think, there is some reality in matter, maybe not the ultimate one. But if you see a lion, you'd better run away. I don't think that the aim of a spiritual path is to find ultimate reality, but to find meaning and possibly lasting peace in our own life, and this can be achieved by going deeper into the experience of the self.

Sometimes i see questioneers completely brainwashed. The questions they would ask would be insane in every respect. And i feel sorry for those folks... and it seems that the longer they entertain spiritual genre the more messed up they get. Enlightenment and understanding of consciousness shouldnt be that hard. With the propper wording, with sincere intentions, every spiritual teacher should know how to pull them back to ground and tell them straight up - man...you're trippin dude! Maybe i'm the one who's tripping, for all i know, it just breaks my heart to see people loosing their marbles over a simple understanding of what's going on.
