Ruqyah Syariah (Islamic spiritual healing) is the practice of reciting specific verses from the Quran and supplications from the Sunnah to seek protection and healing from spiritual and physical ailments such as envy (the evil eye), magic, and possession. It serves as a means of asking Allah for relief and protection.
Verses for Ruqyah Syariah:
Surah Al-Fatihah (The Opening):
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, the Lord of all the worlds...
Al-Fatihah is known as the "Opening" and is one of the most important verses for healing and protection.
Ayat Al-Kursi (Surah Al-Baqarah: 255):
Allah! There is no deity but He, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of all that exists...
Ayat Al-Kursi is one of the greatest verses of the Quran, and reciting it offers powerful protection from harm.
The last two verses of Surah Al-Baqarah (2:285-286):
The Messenger believes in what has been revealed to him from his Lord, and so do the believers...
These verses provide protection and relief from trials.
Surah Al-Ikhlas (112:1-4):
Say: He is Allah, the One and Only; Allah, the Eternal, Absolute...
Reciting Surah Al-Ikhlas three times is a means of protection from all harm.
Surah Al-Falaq (113:1-5):
Say: I seek refuge with (Allah) the Lord of the daybreak...
This Surah is a powerful protection against envy, black magic, and evil.
Surah An-Nas (114:1-6):
Say: I seek refuge with (Allah) the Lord of mankind...
This Surah is used to seek refuge from evil whispers and harm.
Supplications from the Sunnah:
In the name of Allah, with Whose name nothing on earth or in the heavens can cause harm, and He is the All-Hearing, All-Knowing (three times in the morning and evening).
I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah from the evil of what He has created (three times in the morning and evening).
O Allah, Lord of mankind, remove the harm and cure [this illness], You are the Healer, there is no healing except Your healing, a healing that leaves no trace of illness.
How to Perform Ruqyah Syariah:
Sincere intention: Begin with the intention to seek Allah's help and healing.
Recite the Quranic verses and supplications either over yourself or someone in need of healing.
Blow lightly after reciting the verses, either over the person being treated or into water to be consumed or applied.
Consistency: Regularly perform Ruqyah, particularly during times of illness or distress.
Daily protection: Maintain regular daily supplications (morning and evening remembrance) for continued protection.
Conclusion:
Ruqyah Syariah is a blend of Quranic verses and prophetic supplications meant for healing and protection from harm. It reflects reliance on Allah alone as the ultimate Healer and Protector. By performing Ruqyah with sincerity and trust in Allah, one can experience spiritual and physical relief.
