San Francisco native here. I’m 27 and was democrat for my first 2 elections but switched to republican for the 2024 election. I realized I was only going Democrat for the wrong reasons. The rural counties aren't trying to "succeed" because "Trump was voted in"... They're talking about for succession becasue the big cities ALWAYS decide the State and make the "rural" votes pointless. They make our decisions for us. It's almost a waste of a vote when you know the BIG CITY folk are going to choose for you. Senators and Congressperson's are of the biggest concern to me and how districting is laid out, but President it would be nice for a vote to count too. Chicago always decides for the entire rest of the State of Illinois. Cali, Washington, Oregon, NY, etc. I've never understood it, as the Dems always make promises (since the 1960's for God's sake) in the big cities that they have never kept, yet the citizens keep voting them in anyways. 60 years of promise, promise, promise with no follow through. @Cerez78 we were 4th generation Californians. It was the American dream and a great place to grow up 60 yrs ago. All but 1 brother has moved out of State for good. We got tired of fighting the Communist regime in Sacramento. I wish you all the best

Chi-raq will never see anyone elses side except Chi-raq! I live in rural illinois and i sure wish we'd get away from Chi-raq laws that don't apply at all downstate in the country especially gun laws, the average time where i live for an officer to arrive for a 911 call can be up to potentially 20 minutes so if say a break in occurs we have to fight for ourselves until law enforcement arrives.

Ca is turning red. 10 counties flipped red plus San Francisco and Oakland ousted their far left mayors. There was a prop on the ballot once before to split the state in two and that failed. Besides it would have to be voted on by Congress.
