Early next year i plan to expand my rural Japan cafe to include rescuing stray cats in my area to turn it into a unique Cat Cafe. Any help is very much appreciated. www.buymeacoffee.com/realruraljapan

Rural hairdressers and barbershops are mostly gone in our part of the U S, replaced by the in & out places. This one looks much so much better!

I'm amazed at how much stuff was packed into that small space! Man that shampoo/head massage looked good...

I love the way that business can be integrated into your residence in Japan. I find that very refreshing after the stuffy highly regulated way things operate here in Australia.
@RealRuralJapanАй бұрын
Australia is probably the least business friendly country in the world.
@murrayobrien9192Ай бұрын
@@RealRuralJapan Yeah it's so over-regulated here. It's like they are deliberately discouraging people form going into business. In particular the labour laws are insanely restrictive. I would suggest that it has become far worse since you left. For me, the concept of employing anyone is out of the question.

That head massage at the end, that looks heavenly.

I like how you point out that people with certain skill sets can make a living in the rural areas. What’s your experience with the demand for trades people in rural areas? As an electrician, I watch videos on how electrical is done around the world and it seems in urban Japan, being an electrician is pretty cutthroat. Many complain the profit margins are just not there.
@RealRuralJapanАй бұрын
Because these people are one trick ponies. What's wrong with being a grape grower AND an electrician? One trick ponies have a skill that they are solely reliant on which isn't a good situation to be in.

Have you ever seen the Shiatsu massage therapy shops operated by the blind? Been in practice since the Edo period.

I’ve heard about the blind massage that’s all.

I was thinking about small business ideas, when, in your previous presentation of closed businesses (the local 7~11) simply shut down, when operators retire. Could be a way to buy a running business, on the cheap. 🤔 What's your thoughts?
@RealRuralJapanАй бұрын
It was the local supermarket not 7 11. I wouldn't last 2 months running a retail shop of any sort it would bore me to tears. If you do business just for money you will hate your life and your business and it will eventually fail and you will be miserable whether you get rich or not.
@SawdustSoftwareSiliconChippyАй бұрын
@@RealRuralJapan I agree with you. Working solely for money, is a journey of misery. However, the local supermarket, is simply one (business) example. Could be a local carpenter, or something else. As (I think) you mentioned, dog and pet care/grooming, or something else, there could be a business that owners ether want to retire from, or reduce their hours. And that could be a 'way in' to a new career, in Japan.
@SawdustSoftwareSiliconChippyАй бұрын
Thinking about your planned feline rescue plans, you could include cat related accessories in your activities. No telling what idea will take-off.

I heard that the “no conversation” or “silent cut” service that was promoted under COVID for hairdressers is becoming more widespread. It seems that customers prefer not to talk to the hairdresser.

I don't know the trend in the big cities but it certainly isn't like this where i live.

Do you know if there's a lot of welding careers in japan, I've been wanting to live there for a long time and I just want to find a good job to support my life there.
@RealRuralJapanАй бұрын
Start up business visas are available in Japan. Why not be a farmer and do welding as well as part of your business plan.
@sajidkamil1049Ай бұрын
@@RealRuralJapan Hi im curious but are farmers in demand and if so could you make a video on the process of getting a license. I somewhat understand the visa portion.

I have over 10 videos of this on my Patreon. If you interested everything you need to know is covered and more.
