the Bishnupriya manipuris originated from an ancient kingdom called Manipura in Odissa... the 'Manipura' in the Mahabharata story of Arjuna and Chitrangada is located in present day Odissa (near Puri); they are not related to the Indian state of Manipur or any of the Manipuris residing in the NorthEast India... I hope this clears all your confusion......

Well our community has its rules, we aren't allowed to touch or go into kitchen without taking a shower. Even if you take a shit in unusual time, we have to shower(or wash arms, waist and legs if we're ill)..

The Bishnupuriyas are originally from West Bengal but have migrated to Manipur and other parts of North eastern regions due to historical reasons, there connection with Manipur is that they are migrants to this region who have imbibed the Meitei culture gradually
