This is the BEST live-action Kenshin, it stays pretty true to the Manga and stands up to Trust and Betrayal in quality. What I love is that it does not attempt to be cartoony, they made everything as if it could actually be done in real life! The emotion is palpable and Kenshin's and Enishi's pain, grief, and trauma are palpable and I cried several times. The BEST part to me though is the sound! They did not pump an overload of movie music at you, when music was used it was very subtle and gentle. The climax fight between Kenshin and Enishi does not have any music but the sound is amazing, this made it so much more realistic and personal. I was blown away! WOW! Incredible cinematic experience!

For those CURIOUS: The story of rurouni kenshin still continues now in the Manga version. It’s called “Rurouni Kenshin: Hokkaido Arc”. kenshin and kaoru already married and have a son Kenji. They traveled to Hokkaido to find Kaoru’s father (yes, apparently her dad is still alive). They bring kenji and some new characters along to Hokkaido where new enemies surfaced. Sanosuke rejoined him after traveling the world for 5yrs. Some of the juppongatana became his allies also. It’s not yet finished, the author releases new chapters at present. You can read it online in manga websites. Hope it helps :)
