Saw this movie with the love of my life when it came out in 92. I was and still am a recovering heroine addict. I had been clean 12 weeks when I sat through this movie. I must admit, Jason had the “kicking” scenes down to a tee. I thank whatever power that controls the universe for helping me get off horse, and remaining clean for almost 30 years. 💪🏼

That’s heavy! And I’m so stoked that you’ve continued to stay clean because I know how it is I was on pain meds and got on subs years ago and I know a lot of people say that’s not clean and it might not be but I can say I live a happy life without worry and being so hard on myself and can live a normal life every day. Whenever I watched this movie I know it was very difficult to watch certain things like the H and rigs stuff but not too the point I thought I’d break. Keep up the good work brotha 🤙

I fully agree, J. Patric really nailed his 'kicking' scenes, he was also extremely effective and believable in "Narc" with Ray Liotta, And when Gregg Allman says , Jason Patric takes acting über seriously, he isn't kidding, watch the movie "Geronimo" (With Wes Studi & Matt Damon, along with Patric) he is really good in this one too ... had to do a southern type accent , but he really killed his part, top notch , grade "A" , high level actor. Also,.Zembaya from "Euphoria" really nailed her w/d scenes too, so much, it was a trigger, of sorts, for me

You still with the love of your life i have a similar story I’m 4 years clean when I first got sober someone who i thought was the love of my life helped me get through but about 2 years later that person left but I still continue to keep that promise I made her 4 years ago that i would never go back to what I was it’s funny how one day your a homeless junkie then you meet someone that helps you change your life around and now I’m 4 years sober somewhat wealthy and recovering from a stroke and brain surgery alone thinking about those days when I was broke and in desperate need of help and in love to someone i would have done anything for I sometimes wish I could go back to those days

Pretty cool being from the area this was filmed. That bar by the water is t there anymore. That was the old Morgan’s Point ice house/bait house/boat launch. It got washed away back in 03 or 05. Same area where Urban Cowboy was filmed too.

I loved the film so much back in the day that I read the book by Kim Wozencraft... the book is amazing too. They made Jim's dealer uncool and weird and some of the bad guys are not as powerful as in the book. Jason Patric and Jennifer Jason Leigh do a fantastic job though

I hope one day that this scene from 8:29 would be on a Blu-ray or extended version of the film. I really believe that this film still has many more scenes out there, but I think it's difficult that one day we'll be able to see anything, since MGM practically went bankrupt and the Zanuck company hasn't made anything since 2015, I would really like to see a lot more of this film since I saw it for the first time, I always thought there was something more and this scene I'm talking about just proves that, but unfortunately I don't think we'll ever see it

I have yet to see this movie, came out when I was 4 yrs old. I always remember seeing the music video Tears In Heaven on VH1, MTV or played on the radio often. I would think UGH so sick of this song now I know why it was written and became so popular not just because of the movie, the song or beings Eric Clapton wrote and sang the song but I guess he had a very young son who passed away and that's alot of why he wrote this song. At least I read that somewhere
