As a German I would organically praise Daniel Bruehl's performance but one has to put Chris Helmsworth and the "supporting cast" on the same pedestal. As Mr. Bruehl says in the interview: It is not wise to be too competitive with another actor. A good actor makes you a better actor. I think that the 4 main characters were all superb and (this may surprise some) my favorite from a clear depiction of the persona was Christian McKay as Lord Hesketh. The real problem that RUSH has / had, is that the academy has no clue about F1 and / or truly international genres. As it does with "minorities", people of color, women, here is another example that these folks just did / do not get it
