Awesome job! You look like me 20 years ago, I have the same PK-5 and multiple 4003/4004 bases. We used to cover that (and other) Rush songs, people don't realize that it's difficult to maintain your balance on one foot, while playing.

Ive been playing these songs for decades. Its cool to see younger generations trying to keep these old songs that are very much out of style alive on KZbin but i would just try and develop your own style man. There is only one geddy lee. Geddy was extremely original. That was the whole thing about him. He developed all this stuff by himself and wasnt copying anyone. Instruments in general are not popular like they used to be. Rock music is a dying breed. Try to find ways to do something unique with it instead of just repeating what was done decades ago. Just some helpful advice to think about 👍
@bélalugrisi7 ай бұрын
I believe he cites Chris Squire as a big influence.
@trenken7 ай бұрын
@@bélalugrisi geddy? Yes he was influenced by chris, but he didnt try to be him. Geddy was geddy from the very start. He is a very different bass player on those early rush albums than chris who was a pick player and had a much different style. The kid that posted this video is young but he is a good player. I hope he doesnt spend his entire time as a musician trying to be geddy. Geddy was in a classic rock band which is gone now and it cant be replicated. The music industry desperately needs unique musicians to bring something new and inject some life into a dead musical landscape.

@@bélalugrisi yes definitely. Like jacob moon did with his subdivisions cover. So great. Rush themselves loved it and invited him to perform at their canadian hall of fame induction. Best rush cover ever.

Wowowow!!! You’re my kind of Rush fan. Rickenbacker bass and the keyboard part on pedals-that’s hard core. IMHO Geddy’s very best bass tone was on the Rick so it’s really fun seeing you cover this song on that bass. Absolutely nailed the song, too.
