This interview really was next level George. I honestly spoke with my closet friends about how I was amazed at the loyalty of people Neil obviously trusted with such news and how it never 'leaked'. Hearing Geddy speak the other side of how hard that was puts a whole other perspective on just how difficult that situation played out for them. Peace and love to all!

Your skills as an interviewer are astonishing. You're the only person I've ever seen interview Neil Peart that didn't seem to make him uncomfortable at any point during the interview, you're so understanding of the human being you're interviewing (as opposed to the rock star objects these people get treated like normally) and it's so conversational unlike so many hacks who just want the juicy soundbite. The reward for that is that your interviews with Rush in particular are absolutely fascinating without making the viewer feel like they're being nosey. I can't imagine how hard it must have been to tactfully talk to these guys about the loss of their friend, but again, you discussed it with them with class, respect, and sincerity. I really do take my hat off to you.

It would have led to a panic amongst the fanbase as a whole. And RUSH is known to have those few "psycho fans". There's no telling what some of them might have done to "save" Neil, or even get that meeting with him they've wanted for so long. Plus, I would guess that Neil looked like he was 150 years old. The last thing he likely wanted was for fans to see photos of him going from the immortal larger-than-life being that everyone was used to seeing, to being the exact opposite in such a feeble state of decay

The ENTIRE segment was one of the most insightful CONVERSATIONS I have ever witnessed. You all sound like old friends catching up; which you are. The content proves it! Thank you for giving Geddy the opportunity to vent... To sing Neil's lyrics for 40 years and watch him fade away carries a pain that will probably never go away. I've seen other interviews with Alex who has spoken about his grief so to allow Geddy to go at it shows his respect and love for his brother. Words will never express what Rush's music means to me. Their gifts inspire me to strive to be the best and go for it. God bless them for not throwing in the towel before I was born... May the world never ever forget them!!!

You really think about it, all 3 (Alex, Geddy, and Neil) lived with "Grace Under Pressure" (quoting one of their albums) during their career as a band and as friends. They respected Neils wishes and were there for him, like he was always there for them. This is the type of life-long friendship that only some of us can only hope for. I agree with Geddy, loyalty to a friend over the public's need to know. The song "Time Stand Still" helped me through one of the hardest parts of my life. The lyrics told me that I needed to slow down and take the time to look around, to enjoy the moment. That all the B.S. of life is inconsequential, and that sometimes you need to take a break and evaluate your life. It helped me to refocus what I wanted out of life and how to get there. To not look back and dwell on past events. It helped me to see the good and potential in my life. For that I am ever grateful to Neil (especially), Alex, and Geddy for creating a song that helped me get my head screwed back on straight.

A person's wish for privacy overrides other's "right" to know. I put that in sarcastic quotes because, even if we may disagree with it morally (we believe that there are others who didn't know who were close enough to the person that they did have a right to know in that sense), the only person who truly has a moral right to know any private information about themselves is that person. They alone retain the power and right to choose what information about themselves to share with others. Full stop. I can very much understand how Geddy/Alex and others who knew about Neil's health felt like they were betraying others (including many good friends and some family I'm guessing) who truly did care about Neil as well and wanted to know what was going on, but it was the right thing to respect Neil's wishes, just as it is now to only divulge the amount of information about his last years (or his life in general) that he wished to be shared either with others in that broad circle or the larger public. A person's right to privacy is a foundational moral and legal/political right that can not be infringed by a person who has been given access to private information that an individual does not want shared. A betrayal of that trust, even if the person didn't find out (or at least find out who did it) would be the real dishonest and immoral act. Geddy and Alex absolutely did the morally right thing here.

I got Alex guitar pick in CA. I used to live in Cols, Ohio and saw Rush in Cleveland, Ohio! Moved to CA in 2011 and got to see them two more times FRONT ROW a few years later! l was so thrilled to be able to look right at their happy faces and be able to smile back at them! My Cousin and I connected with them. So, Alex remembered me and gave me his guitar pick one night. As fans screamed hands out reaching for him, he bent down and held out his guitar pick. The crowd went crazy, hands outstretched but Alex said " No. I want HER to have it! " And he handed it to me! I melted into the floor. He made my Decade that night! He couldnt not notice my wild and crazy Geddy Loving Red Headed Cousin with full attention on Geddy and me, googoo eyed at Alex. I love them all. Been a fan since "76" I think it was! I first heard The White Album, probably still one of my favs. But they were like kids on Stage every time I've seen them. Wow! Neil was Poppin' his AMAZING Drum kit, as usual. What a talent! It was probably 2014 or so. Getty was bouncing with his bass with black high tops on looking like a high School kid and Alex.... Such an amazing guitarist and so easy on the eyes... I know these guys are married to their high school loves. I Respect that so very much! They are so loyal! I love them in a different way! Rocked with them since I was a teenager. I love when they said " "We are just normal Musicians but Together, We are Genius." And they are. My Cousin had made a Sign that said "Together we are Genius!" She got to meet them at a back stage meeting later on. Much love, guys! You 3 will never, ever be forgotten! We arent in Nursing Homes yet, Geddy! We are just like you two. Still kids at Heart and still Rocking to Rush! Thank you for being a Sound Track of my life! I hope you both know how very much YOU ARE LOVED. ❤ 💋 😘 💋

F everyone that says anything negative about Neil. I know he was blessed to have you guys for so long! He went from selling tractors to one of the best drummers ever! Bless RUSH you guys will always be special to millions and millions of people!

Wow. Strombo...just an internet gripe, but your end card banners came up over Geddy's face at the end, when it was really worth seeing unfettered. Just a quick bitch. But yeah,...wow. It's been a couple of yrs, and I still cannot process the loss to RUSH, fam, friends, and my own childhood looking way, WAY up, to the Professor. Psh. Unreal.

I have similar feelings too. When I was in my late teens and early twenties and really getting into Rush, I looked up to the Professor too, because of the intelligent, thought-provoking and deeply meaningful lyrics he wrote. His death came to me as a complete surprise. When a celebrity dies, I tend not to be shocked or get bent out of shape. But when I heard about Neil's passing, I was truly shocked and sad. Even today, more than two years after his death, I still feel a sense of loss, even though I never met him or knew him personally. And when I see pictures of Geddy and Alex together that are recent, they seem somewhat forlorn, because something is missing from the picture. That 'something' is Neil Peart. What Geddy, Alex and Neil had, and what they had built together is exceedingly rare in the music business and the world as a whole.

Also feel that way. I think back to how I heard the news too - on the car radio. A friend had texted me one word before my wife and I got in the car: "Bro." I had no idea what was up, but figured it must be news-related, so my wife and I tuned in. A prominent local businessman had died in a helicopter crash. I knew the family because I had been cubscout leader for his two young sons. I thought, how did my buddy know I knew that guy at the same time I was thinking about that poor family. Not even a half minute later the radio show went to commercial, and bumped with something like "...and fans of the rock band Rush are saddened today to learn of the death of Neil Peart.....". Ton of bricks. Sometimes it still is. For me, "How It Is" kind of sums it up. "You can't tell yourself not to care. You can't tell yourself how to feel. That's how it is."

My love of Rush has only gotten stronger over the years, and seeing the strength and bond of friendship between these guys shows me that that affection is well placed. I was deeply saddend to hear of Neil's passing, I lost an idol, but Geddy and Alex lost a friend. Love those guys. I used to fall asleep listening to Moving Pictures. I can remember being given a VHS of a Rush concert, and absolutely wearing it out. Thank you for some great times.

I have so admired the music of Rush since the first time my cousin in Houston told me "Come here, listen to this", and proceeded to put a needle on a spinning vinyl that then burst with the volcanic intro to "Tom Sawyer". That was it folks, hooked for life. It took about 5 to 6 months for the impact of 'Moving Pictures' to make it's way to South Texas. Thank you Neil, Geddy and Alex, you guys made life so much better for me and so many countless millions here on this enchanted globe.

Rest Peacefully Neil Peart the greatest percussionist in Rock history. You could play anything and everything that could be considered a percussion instrument. Only the good die young. You were to young yourself. You are and will be missed. Thank you for the memories of your excellent concert performance especially the spinning and rotating cage in which you dazzled not only me but the entire crowd playing perfectly as you were turned upside down while spinning in a 360% circle. No one has topped that yet and I think they never will! Go rest high on the mountain our beloved "Percussionist", you were worlds more than a mere "drummer" ever could be.

All I can say is I truly respect these guys and their loyalty to each other. Being in a band and creating the spectacular music created a bond very few will know and less even appreciate. Unlike most of us (even myself a musician for 52 years with moderate success) we will not be remembered like these guys will. They earned this.

Rush is one of my all-time favorite bands and seeing stuff like this just seals it. They were a tight nit group that were not only band mates, but also close friends. The fact that Alex and Geddy was able to honor Neil’s wishes and keep quiet about his declining health, proves that they were amazing friends! ❤️

I have been a fan of Rush since they came on the scene in the 70s opening for Kiss so much I bought my first bass guitar and when I heard Neil had passed away I was driving in my car and remember exactly where I was and I cried, like a piece of my childhood also died. Never before for any actor I admired or anyone I had never personally met. I have read his books and he had such tragedy while he brought so much joy to mine as the greatest drummer of the greatest rock band hands down. My phone is loaded with Rush songs and I still listen to them every time I am listening to music as it always brings me back to my youth. Thank you Rush for the memories.
