This is a song to make you think about how music has been raped by corporations stealing money from all of us. It's to be taken seriously. It's not a pleasant ditty. It's a cry for reason!

RIP Neil Peart. September 12, 1952 - January 7, 2020 (Age 67). He is and always will be the best drummer in the world. Nobody can't even come close to matching his style. The king of the drumming world. I grew up spending countless hours listening to Rush songs on MTV and Stereo Panama radio station from 1984- 1991. He wrote the lyrics by adding a unique philosophy and strong messages that shaped my teenage years. Great nostalgia. Neil Peart you will remain forever closer to the heart of all Rush fans worldwide ! You now one with the spirit of radio !

Rush came along at a time that wasn't ready to embrace their genius while embracing the genius of their contemporary rivals who were changing Music forever! Fly by night was well received but by the time Permanent Wave came around the world was digesting the loss of some Icons of music like Elvis, John Bonham, John Lennon ...etc. The radio was still pushing the 3 minute song with some notable exceptions so it would be a few years before alot of people gave them a long hard look! Then there they were nestled in the midst of the Rock and Roll Revolution Forever and a must have for party goers in the late 70's and early 80's. That is just from my own take on a time in my own life that was gifted with the best music of all time! Please don't hammer me with facts and dates as this is just my fond humble remembrances and opinion, Rush has been in my own collection since Fly By Night in 1974 !I loved the HOF induction and Concert! RIP Neal Peart Rush fans everywhere will mourn your passing.

This band has amazing music and lyrics. I've been listening to them since I was a child, and the music never gets old. They didn't get much attention because they didn't allow the greedy music industry to tarnish their message of music. I could easily live without TV as long as I've got great music. It's sad to watch today's generation get plugged into the computers and television, and have no idea what it's like to listen to, and actually hear, the beauty of great music.

Not so coldly charted , It's really just the question of your honesty, yeah, your honesty, One likes to believe in the freedom of music. If you ask anybody, most people will tell you that the number one greatest artist of all time is either The Beatles or Led Zeppelin. But they aren't. Rush is. Without getting into all the overwhelming reasons as to "why", all anybody has to do is listen to this one song. Just listen to it. The musicianship and songwriting blow anything else completely out of the water, and to this day, not a single person can compete with it. Rush stands alone. Period. They are THE greatest rock band to ever exist. It's just a shame that people wait until a death before they acknowledge how great an artist is.

And... Tom Sawyer...Closer To The Heart... and many more...lol I still, today, play their music as loud as I can in my car. I upgraded my sound system for music like this. Their music gives my chills every time I listen to it. The music of the 70's and 80's will never be matched in my opinion. It's such an emotional roller coaster to listen to the music of that time. And I can never get enough of it. Today's generation has no understanding of what is truly beautiful music.

17 year old me driving to work in an electric bright sunny morning with the window down my long blonde hair flowing behind me in the breeze and not a care in the world. The moment remembered but fading in the deep recess of time. It seems like an imagined world but it was real. How fortunate am I to have had such moments? How fortunate am I to have lived this long? So much has changed but this recorded music is still exactly the same. It has become a time machine that can instantly take me to long ago places an feelings. Indeed, how fortunate am I ?

I swear, I've met guitar players that have been playing for 25+ years, and they struggle to play that opening riff.

just gotta break it down and play it slow until you can play it up to speed you.. windows media player has a slow down tool, doesnt change the key of the music so you can play along.... practice makes perfect

I agree, however, it should be noted that it is basically a repeat of what they play at around 0:15-20 to start off the song.

Rush is definitely one of the greatest bands, with absolutely incredible lyrics in their songs. They didn't get as much attention as they deserved because they wouldn't allow the greedy music industry to exploit them for their own profits.

The marching band and color guard at the high school I go to did a rush show a while back, and this year they're doing a mix of some new music that's beetlejuice themed, the spirit of radio from their rush show, and madness from their muse show. Most of the seniors did muse and some were there for rush, and I think it's really cool how they're choosing to do a bit of a throwback so the seniors can have fun this year despite the pandemic. I've only heard spirit of radio in marching band form before (I'm in the color guard) so this has been very fun to listen to and recognize most of the music. Awesome song!

Late 70s early 80s.. I was 16 in 1976 and this album and other Rush 8-tracks were there in those muggy days and summer nights.. One of the bands and songs playing in the background of our lives.. Even then I knew they were different.. I listen now and it brings me back there. . Sometimes I wish I was back there...

I was blessed to see these three men live at Blossom. Akron, Ohio, in 2010ish snakes and arrows tour. So much indesputible talent and just the absolute, most explosive concert I've ever been to. Sounds so great live, in fact it's so exact, their music sounds just as good as it does on the radio.. except better because its LOUDER

nothing wrong with expressing yourself in whatever manner fits you an soothes you... if you have such a vivid creative imagination to do that, that's not a bad thing nor is it not having a life, its better than sitting in front of a TV all day, and just the positive light energy you send out into the world when doing so is also helpful to all of the world, the more that do things out of love an passion, the more we will see this world change for the better... don't let anyone put your creativity down or just being negative, when its actually helping to heal this sick planet... I say kudos to you my fellow human brother...
