So glad you liked it! Wonderful reaction!!! Die hard (American) Rush fan and I’ve listened to every Rush song probably thousands of times… this is still my favorite. It’s the favorite of many Rush fans because of the message and because it was so personal for Neil. Touchy-feely Rush songs are rare, and when they made one, they made it count. After it came out, they played it at every concert and it brought the house down because they all put so much into it. When Neil’s wife and daughter died, they retired it. It was simply too painful to play, because it *was* so personal. We all understood.

The young lady in the video is Aimee Mann. She was the singer of the group 'Til Tuesday. They were best known for their hit song 'Voices Carry'.

There is a story behind this which is Geddy & a friend of his fooling around with a drum machine of some sort & coming up with something they played for Neil & told him that he couldn't duplicate it. Apparently you don't challenge Neil like that & he worked on till he got it. At least some of what they came up with is in this song.

@thatsnice99 Why do you constantly hate on Rush reactions and fans? It OK for you to love the early Rush and not appreciate a lot of their later stuff, we all have our own tastes. Lots of Rush fans became fans based on ‘80’s Rush or ‘90’s Rush. I for one and am an old guy, fan since the ‘70’s but really latched on to Rush with “Permanent Waves”. As for “Time Stand Still”, I love the song but….oh…the video! 😱
