The kit I'm playing on is a Roland TD-4kp. I'm on XBOX One and use the Madcatz 360 Midi Pro Adapter with the PDP Wired Legacy Adapter to play RB4 with this kit.

Rush is really good at making time signature changes flow together into something that sounds coherent and is easy to remember. I've seen way too many prog bands that just randomly switch and it sounds like a mess.

I'm pretty proud of myself that I can almost 100% the ride symbol part. Looks hard as shit but once you get the pattern down it's the easiest part of the whole song minus the intro.

From maybe 2:50-2:54 is it just me or did harmonix add way too many snare hits before the roll and guitar solo break? They may be ghost notes but if they added notes it’s part of the reason why I quit rockband.

Don’t know how you can manipulate the bass drum pedal to play more hits while playing less. Watched your video of the trooper too and maybe it’s the angle but it looks like you aren’t making enough hits on the bass drum. Rockband wizardry I guess. Can you play any of these songs on a real kit? I always have trouble with the middle section of YYZ. The cool thing about rockband was that if you could play it on rockband it gave you the foundational tools to play it on a kit.

Late post I know lol, but the rubber let's you bounce it ever so slightly with a solid hit, let's you hit it twice without moving your arm hardly at all.

Rock Band only uses 3 cymbals yeah, but his kit is set up so that it registers the 2 on the left as a yellow cymbal, cus sometimes yellow is used as a crash instead of just a hi-hat.

I have an explanation for that, in the first five or six guitar hero games, you would be awarded 3 stars no matter the score, you could have it on no fail and hit nothing and you'd still get 3 stars. later games, trying to stay consistent made it really easy to get three stars fast

Unless it's some live version or something Satch Boogie has no vocals. The entirety of Surfing with the Alien (The record Satch Boogie is from) is instrumental.
