Rusk State Hospital Transformation

HHSC has completed construction of Rusk State Hospital’s new patient-centered facility and administration building. The 227,368-square-foot patient complex includes a 100-bed maximum-security unit and a 100-bed non-maximum-security unit. Main design features include private rooms, common activity spaces, treatment areas, outdoor courtyards, and the use of natural light to promote recovery and healing.
