Honestly it's at listen to the deal I can't help us think of Aaron Gillespie with the swearing on his newer songs. He received such backlash from the Christian community that we walked out of Faith entirely and that's heartbreaking. I have done events with my church that he took part in, which honestly I think we're part of his returning faith at Awakening conference. He was leading worship and preaching sermons that are young adult focused events when we could have him and then he dropped out due to the backlash. Very interested to see a conversation focused around the aftermath of artists like Aaron.

Profanity is a social issue not a biblical one. The Gospel can also be deemed offensive by society and words are words. Intent (from the heart) is where this issue becomes a problem (with God) as he mentioned cursing at someone (ill intent) comparative to using an adjective to express feelings which has nothing to do with ill intent or ill manner if not in ill projection. Me saying ouch or d*mn it. Where is there a biblical take on a word that is an expression of dissatisfaction? These are new words and expressive words came centuries after the bible was even given to the masses. Yet we still have to show due dilligence to society a bit! That is what love does! Judging people over societal issues such as this is truly elementary. There is no direct list of no-no words in the bible. Is "unwholesome" or "perverse" speech a matter based on a basic multi-letter WORD? or ill hearted content and intentions or direction of the speech in direct correlation towards something or someone? I Love how these guys spoke on this in a mature way! Much ups to Dax and Ruslan!

What we call cuss/curse words have nothing to do with what the bible tells us not to say. God doesn't care about what we call dirty words. You can't speak literal words of curse meaning actually cursing someone / intentionally speaking words seeking condemnation of someone etc.

I’m sure their were words in those times similar to what we call curse words these days. And they most likely yelled those words and spat at Jesus while he was on his way to be crucified. Doubt, “But now you must put them all away: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and obscene talk from your mouth.” Colossians 3:8 is excluding the curse words we know today. They definitely aren’t graceful words.
