I admire his music but I admire him more because he's so self-driven, authentic and talented. I'm a book writer and listening every of his interviews makes me to write more stories in the future. He's truly an inspiration to everybody who strives hard to be in a place where they want. He's independent and that's a real deal. If people don't see it that way, they ain't ready for success and making dreams come true.

I've never looked for so many interviews from an artist. This is my 5th or 6th one, and I watch all the way through. I only have 6 - 8 Russ songs in my library, but his words are pure motivation. On Pull Up with Budden, he said he dropped 11 mixtapes and only have 1,000 followers after all that. Took that disappointment and made it huge.

@fbi6555
@fbi6555 3 жыл бұрын
@@turkaacid no I'm comparing a love song to another artist that also makes love songs. And to be honest, I really don't even understand why russ says he knows the industry but still wants to work with drake so bad. Drake has a team of 5 producers, partynextdoor as a main writer as well as the whole OVO team, choreographers, directors, photographers. Like Russ did this all by himself, everything. So you'd think if your looking from that point of view that you wouldn't value drake the same but he seems to value him even more. That's not to say drake isn't good, but rather that him and russ just make music differently.

I love Russ and I'm a big fan. I respect how he takes pride in understanding that Hip-Hop values making something out of nothing and being independent which is what he did and who he is. I do not disagree with him talking down on rappers rapping about designer brands. The thing that I believe he is not understanding is that those designer brands symbolize success for rappers. To be able to acquire something that they could not have before and valuing their appearance. Biggie said I stay Coogi'd downed to the socks!.Its about having pride in being able to have things that you couldn't have before. If you grew up with access to these things like most suburban white kids in America then you probably cant understand that. Should we support luxury brands like Off White more instead of Gucci sure. But that concept needs to be understood.
@amims7445
@amims7445 4 жыл бұрын
Nah you can still achieve things and acquire things without wasting it on clothes instead of an investment. These rappers don’t really have the type of money where you can just spend on whatever and still be rich. They aren’t generationally wealthy and it’s because almost no one not even middle class “suburban white kids” are taught how to be smart with money. Suburban white kids that make money quickly like a rapper or any other way do the same shit. When you are riding waves and trends you aren’t going to sell tickets for long and you won’t stay rich if you don’t use your money to make more money. It’s part of the culture but it’s about spending the money you can really spend on bullshit like that. And people think they have more to spend than they really do. Especially when you gotta pay back labels for shit they “gave” you.

I respect the man's opinion and his knowledge on the business is amazing. I don't see Travis Scott shifting Hip Hop to another direction than J Cole and K-Dot. Lil Uzi just did 311 k sales and I'm pretty sure Travis did 450k or something. Both of these artists are not sought out for bars but instead of their song making abilities. That is really close to kdot and Drake who did 700k and 600k sales
