Had a boss like that when I was a stationhand on a buffalo station up in the Territory. He was one of the two owners of the company that owned the station and I only met him a couple of times, as he was based in Darwin and we were out towards Kakadu. He came out one day for a bit of a royal tour and picked up a Swedish couple of backpackers on the way. They totally fit the Swedish backpacker stereotype... blonde and perfect male and female. He's driving around the station showing off the place while me and my best mate were enjoying a bit of bludge, sitting in the back. We stopped at one place and he, for god knows what reason, starts tinkering with the 4WD's motor (which had been working perfectly) and drops a part (think it was some little adjustable screw from the carbie) and couldn't find it, because it fell down a crack in the dried mud. Me and my mate were pissing ourselves. And it was obvious he'd been showing off to this stunning Swedish goddess and he ended up looking such a tool. One of my funniest days at work ever. Eventually found it and all was cool. Nice guy, but definitely in the Russell Coight tradition.
