as long as you put the ingredients in in the order the book tells you, then most recipes will be ok. you may not be able to use some special recipes such as rye or gluten free but for every thing else you just need to check which program to use.

Probably because Russell Hobbs aren't what they use to be. They've kept their prices high but their quality has dropped significantly over the years.

What am I doing wrong? I follow the recipe in the Russel Hobbs Bread Maker book to the T, it rises beautifully and when it starts baking it falls flat!

The same old principle applies with yeast. Throw your warm water, yeast and sugar in and let that sit for 10min before adding the rest of the ingredients. This allows for the yeast to activate properly. Hard flat bread is a result of dead yeast.

Also don’t let your salt near your yeast ! It kills the yeast and won’t work !
