A good mate of mine put me onto this song and other Russell Morris songs including Sweet Sweet Love. We lost Mick a year or so back after he battled cancer with a positive strength and patience no one could believe. This song is for him, about him. All the best forever Mick. A great mate, a great man

Same. Early October 1970 from Essex to Pinjarra, WA. Not long before Master's Apprentices' "Because I Love You" was released. Some songs just take me back 50 years or longer.

His music puts me right back in the 70s.. Ohh what a great feeling.. Love his voice and music I wish there was a festival with the music and artists of this era , just plain acoustics and beats, nothing modern or technical.. If only..

The Russell Morris compilation 'Retrospective' was issued in 1978. I believe that's why he was invited on 'Countdown' to sing "Wings of an Eagle," which was six years old. (I remember being quite surprised at the time.) Hopefully it educated the young 'Countdown' audience as to how brilliant he is!

I love Russel Morris's songs. I sing in the same register, but can' t find any backing track for Rachel or Sweet Love, but I do have a backing track for "Wings of an Eagle", that I am eternally grateful for. All his songs have messages. No "be bopa lula" with this guy, just real genius. Sorry I missed him when he came to Wellington, NZ. Ian Ralph

My mum requested this to be sung at her funeral and later at her cremation. This song helped me deal with her death in so many ways. I attached feathers to her clothing and I could picture her flying away on the 'Wings of an Eagle'

there are some people out that have the ability to make something good out something bad and the lyrics should be posted on everyone who can not help his fellow man and let them know that music of this nature can be a message to make a better world if we want it. Like your mum Anne Marie I will be requesting this song to be played at my funeral. Thanks Russell
