Russell Westbrook notched his 179th triple-double of his career last night against the Milwaukee Bucks. He is now just two triple-doubles away from Oscar Robertson's all-time record. Despite Westbrook never winning a championship, Robertson believes that shouldn't be held against the Washington Wizards' point guard. The Hall of Famer said quote 'I think it's ridiculous that some sportswriters criticize him because he has not won a championship. Players don't win championships by themselves. You've got to have good management. You need to get with the right group of players.' Skip Bayless and Shannon Sharpe discuss whether Westbrook gets too much criticism for not winning a title.

Championships are based on how great your team is not an individual... but way more often than not you would need that one special special player or two who could lead the team to it...that's the point the legendary Oscar Robertson is missing which is something he should totally understand for a player himself or he obviously knows that but just decides to ignore that and just focus on the other things. Oscar's point would be valid for sure if Westbrook never played on good teams or very good teams but that is just not the case for sure. But lately with the wizards he has been absolutely phenomenal and his team have been winning at a better rate for sure they actually still have a chance to make the playoffs but to me I don't think they are going to make it for sure because it's just too much ground to make up for for sure and the teams ahead of them have to loose consistently which is more likely not going to happen.

High pts and assists are usually a product of high time of possession. Players who have high time of possession running Isos and Pick and Rolls all game are bound to get high pts and assists. Some players will get more points and less assists (Luka, Dame), while others will get less points and more assists (Russ), and everything in between (Trae, Harden) but they will all get a lot of both. Obviously, Russ has had the highest or near the highest time of possession for many years now. Russ is no doubt the best rebounding guard, but it's not like he's getting his double digit rebounds like big men are, as 76% of his rebounds are Uncontested Rebounds, while a guy like Jokic gets those rebounding numbers while only 57% of his rebounds are Uncontested Rebounds.

He got OKC to the playoffs on his own basically, his best teammate was Steven Adams. You surround Russ with the players capable of doing their job night in and night out, he's going somewhere. You can't have a superstar playing well all season just to get into the playoffs and shoot 30% and expect Russ to carry all that extra weight. Look what it's took to actually stop Russ when he's had reliable teammates, in OKC they lost to Dallas, who won a ring, Miami, who won a ring, GS, who won a ring, look at Houston with Harden, they beat OKC who everybody thought was actually better with CP3 over Russ, beat them, but lost to the Lakers, who won a ring. You give Russ a reliable star and he's going to give other teams a heart attack. Give Washington till next year, barring they don't do anything stupid, those boys definitely going to the playoffs.
