Russ playing great lately. Most impressive are not the numbers, but the efficiency, effort on the defensive end and that he makes much more right plays nowadays. If Russ keeps his cool, he could be the difference in play-offs, if not for the championship (Denver roster is just not good enough and the competition is tough) then perhaps for a deep play-off run. I'd love to see Denver spanking the Lakers in the play-offs again, just to see that smile on Russ' face lol

People don't realize how good Russ was on defense last season. In the games Jamal Murray didn't play, the five man group of: Jokic, Gordon, MPJ, CB, and Russ have a defensive rating of 101..... That means The Nuggets have the players to play an elite level of defense but they need Murray's big shot making, so it's hard to take him off the floor when he's the second best player. I think the team should keep Russ as the pg and move Murray to sg. In the games where Murray and Russ start together, the five man group of: Jokic, Gordon, MPJ, Murray, and Russ have a 135 offensive rating. So with Russ and CB, they have an elite defense but with Russ and Murray they have an elite offense. For now i would go with offense and try to get Murray to play better on the defensive side of the court. The Russ and CB backcourt lacks a clutch shooter which becomes critical in half court sets. The Murray and CB backcourt plays too slow and the offense sort of stagnates, the ball doesn't pop as much. So Murray and Russ would be the way i would go, i would leave it that way for at least 15-20 games so i can see if the defense improves a bit with more time on the floor together. Let CB be a super sub(30+ mins)

Did ya'll watch the whole game or just highlights of the game? There was a pretty mind blowing sequence in the game that is not on any highlight clips but it really should be. There is a sequence late in the game where The Nuggets are on defense and Russ jumps out to contest a corner 3, then he's trying to scramble while guarding super quick Sexton and Sexton jukes the hell of out of Russ, so much so that Russ falls to the court, but The Jazz are still trying to get a shot up and as they get the ball back to Sexton, Russ comes flying from the backside to swipe a steal and go down court for a transition jam! I got tired just watching this....😂 This man is in season 17! It was as relentless a play as i have seen in a while from such an aging veteran. Try to find the full game so you can see this specific defensive possession, it was amazing!
