I think coach just knows westbrook sells tickets, but doesn't improve them offensively or defensively. He's doing this video in effort to teach people that while Russ style of play is explosive and fun to watch for some, basketball purists see him for as much for his liabilities and lack of ability to create net positive plays for his team. To be honest, it's extremely frustrating watching someone playing that hard for this long still not able to play within himself, and seemly not be able to adapt his game to any type of offensive or defensive scheme. This dude should be Gary Payton on defense, and an even more explosive Penny Hardaway on offense. Nonetheless, I guess he can just be what he is now, a good stats bad team guy.

He has had an overall negative impact on the team. Russ doesn’t put this team over the top. He has emptied them into the dumpster with his play style, poor fit, poor defense(it’s bad enough having one defender like Harden on your team when you have to it’s bound to get most of the players on to the team into the -40’s fairly often.) and extremely low basketball IQ you wouldn’t expect outside of Rookies who Recently took up basketball rather than an 11th year former mvp and his horrific decision making which was a big question about him coming out of the draft. Russ has answered it..... He’s an otherwise smart and intelligent guy but when it comes to basketball his IQ is worse than what is considered “mental retardation.” The team does better when he is off the floor, the way they simply were better not having melo at all. The difference is they are unwilling to eat over 120 million in dead cap space by cutting him and they are not allowed to trade him again for another month(if anyone will take him for any price)‼️

Westbrook really did play well most of the time in his first 5 games. This game was horrible. But beside that game, russ is having one of his best years. He is efficient from the field (not from 3 and FT), less turnovers than in previous years and still a great rebounder (also offensive rebounder) and passer. It doesnt tell the truth when you just talk about this one game

Boy, I saw that game and it was beyond horrible. Westbrook was beyond horrible.. missed every single 3-pointers and had forced layups left right and centre. But to be fair, the Rocket's defense was beyond words to describe and that is on the WHOLE TEAM--not just Westbrooks. Miami's hot shooting %, coupled with the Rocket's poor shooting, really caused frustrations in Westbrook. It's not just Westbrook, Eric Gordon was also horrible. His shooting % and scoring is down significantly this year; so he couldn't stretch the floor for Westbrook to attack. All night long Miami took two steps back to defend the paint knowing that only Harden can score. Westbrook, Gordon and Tucker all had a real bad night scoring and defending.
