Russ was making next level throws in this game. As a Pats fan, I'm all in on Cam. Its weird saying this, but they're better off with him with *this* offense than they would be if Brady was still there. Cam seems to be willing to work with/develop these young guys that Brady was so frustrated with last season. I honestly don't think this game is that close if Brady was the Pats QB on Sunday. Looking forward to watching Cam grow and really learn this offense with that coaching. Good stuff my dude!

@@LvyPK That's easy to say, but If Brady's playing that entire game with that receiving corps, the Pats would never be that close for a pass to Edelman to matter. And it's not like we haven't seen Brady throw high passes to his short slot receivers before (The infamous Wes Welker Pass). Just this weekend Brady overthrew a 6'5 Gronk for his 1 interception against the Panthers.

The last play was gorgoeus, and I agree, the pre snap look was in favor of NE. Post snap, seattle, slanted the dline that way with the back side A-gap blitz by Wagner. The cross face on the left side TE (#71) was deliberate, my hypothesis is seattle knew their alignment pre snap would predicate the play to the left, and called the stunt and blitz based on it. Further, one of the best ways to stop power in short yardage is to blitz the backside A in the vacated spot of the pulling guard, hoping to shoot that alley from behind. High risk high reward, but the combo of Seattle's counterscheme and strong individual effort led to the end result. Thanks for the breakdown JT, super cool to see you breaking down some stellar QB play

I was expecting this game to be a Russ show, and it was. He is something truly special and there's nobody I'd rather watch. That said, it was also phenomenal to see that Cam is not just exercise videos and big talk - he is for real! Everyone knows he can run but he is, as best I can tell, also making good reads and backing them up with precision passes. That's a combination that will make the Patriots a force this season. Thank you so much JT for your insightful commentary.

22:45 If cam goes out he won’t walk in, still frames are misleading. A defender breaks a block and would have been ready to stop cam if he went out. Does Cam still go in 1 on 1 with a defender maybe, but it’s not a walk in.

I disagree with Moore's foot getting pushed in by the pylon. Moore's whole body is twisting back and in. His hip moves his whole leg back in an arc, and the apex of the arc happens to be the pylon, but Moore lands with his hips are almost parallel to the sideline by the time he lands the second foot inbounds. I think if the pylon had puched his foot in, the leg and hip angle would not be the same.

@@TheQBSchool okay last thing I'm gonna say about it haha. Today ben talked about his footwork being poor as rusty "Going back and reviewing, I felt from Week 1 to Week 2, my pocket presence and awareness was better," said Roethlisberger. "I do feel I got a little lazy with my feet, which then, in turn, translated to a lazy arm. There were some throws that I kind of dropped my elbow. I don't want to get too technical, but it became more of a three-quarter release instead of an over the top when I didn't need to. "There are obviously times you have to change your release point. There were too many throws, I felt looking back, that I just have to get my feet working better, and that will then translate, hopefully, to the rest of the body. Then I won't be guiding some of the throws. That's, to me, the biggest thing I'm going to work on today, even though it's an off day. I'm going to really work on my feet and kind of starting it there with translating the rest of my body." Might be cool to get a quick QB school technical dive into the mechanics

At 6:10 he says he can’t tell who they’re reading. In Seattle’s cover 3 the passing strong side safety has the hook/curl responsibility and the corner has deep. The throw to McCourty, I'm like half out of my chair for the intercep---fell on his butt. Oof. I knew Russ would get his a few times. But I expected to the Pats to get theirs on defense, and that was the one that hurt, defender in the best position for the ball, just can't maintain body control. The Pats offense being able to hang with that kind of production though, and Cam making such accurate downfield throws is something I don't think many people expected to see this season at all. Early in the game the Pats called a draw play on 3rd and 9 and I'm like, wow they really do not trust this passing offense at all. And maybe they didn't. But when the score necessitated it and Josh finally dialed up some downfield passes, they really came through. Edelman putting up an exhibit for future HoF consideration someday, if he keeps adding games like this to his collection.

Rus looked like Rus... But Cam has receivers that can catch the ball now.... I underestimated the New England Receivers the most but I also think we underestimated Cam (48th highest paid QB in the NFL). War Eagle!

I said the same thing with Rus and the pilon throw. He looked off the safety, and threw basically an underthrown jump ball... it's still Russ though.... can't take that away... He's amazing.

Once again, the 13 second throw in the 4th hit Edleman's hands on the all verts and he should have come down with that... But he was exhausted... and plus he had been making big plays all night, can't expect him to be perfect. I love Rus too, but like I said earlier, Rus was being normal Rus, Cam was having a game we haven't seen since the Panthers went to the Superbowl. It's good to see good football from both sides!

That 2 lb foam pilon didn't ricochet and redirect a foot/in violent motion like that; c'mon man! Great feet, side line awareness and marginals on his side.

This game was a sign of impending DOOM for NE. In a 2-point conversion, what did NE do, with a Goal-Line Defense with huge hulks up front? The did an option with Cam. No creativiey!!! With Brady they had to be creative because he coldn't run, now with Cam they are dumb, and just ruing him. BIG mistkake. I would have put Edleman and another reciever out left and had Edleman do just what he did in the Super Bowl against the Seahawks, run a slant then cut outside for an easy recetion. You cannot be predictable against good teams. You must be sly and creative, do what they do not expect. Cam is NOT Superman, tell him to stop that. He can kiss his ass at his own home not on the field. If NE is going to be this uncreative, they are not going to go far in the Postseason, and they are not going to beat the best teams. The good news is, with all these mistakes and Cam still not familiar with the team, they did pretty good against a good team on the road.

That last play is a little annoying to see from the OL/blocking scheme, an OLman is at TE outside leverage on a DE with zero split. If you get beat outside quick seal inside and make it a C gap run. If 62 helps the C close the A cap not help the LT there is not the space for Wagner to run through and Cam has a shot at jumping over. The RG is lined up showing he's pulling lined up deeper than other OL on a play they had ran 2/3 time already. Pats are missing Dante Scarnecchia already. Cam and Wilson were on fire all game though
