So the Graham trade didn't work out. Heaven forbid you expect a TE to block ever. Look at the Rams, the WRs all block. OBJ felt like a Martian in the offense, then then got aquatinted to the playbook AND bought into blocking. Ya, OBJ suffered that ACL injury in the biggest in of all games, but it is is on important to point out how the Rams offense, everyone blocks when the play calls for it. I don't think Carrols offense style is that out of date. Keep in mind Pete is a defensive style head coach. And what he expects on offense is a physical style as a result. Maybe bring in a young OC to tweak the offense, but at the same time that Seahawks organization it is still time for a rebuild. And if the franchise QB isn't all in on a rebuild, use his trading to add more draft picks to help with the rebuild. Cause we all know how it's easier to build through the draft than to pay everyone you drafted. Look at the Patriots, they're notorious for trading too end talents right before they are owed a big payday for...wait for it...DRAFT PICKS!!!!

Pete drafted all the guys he watched first hand in college when he was at USC. It gave them a legendary defense, Russ and Golden Tate who they should have resigned( for the 1 yard line play in SB). After the 1st 4 years Pete and Schneider stopped hitting home runs in the draft. The first 2 years they went 7-9 then they drafted Russ who replaced Matt Flynn and the rest is....

It is interesting how Russ goes to the team that he beat to win a super bowl ring. What would be more interesting was if the Broncos went to and won the super bowl. To give more context, Super Bowl 57 will take place in Glendale, Arizona, and the last time Russ was in the super bowl was Super bowl 49, which took place in Glendale, and he lost there. It would be some sort of redemption and second chance for him to go back there and win there.

As a Seahawk fan I went through the 5 stages of grief surprisingly quickly with this. And as it turns out I think this is actually a positive trade for us... Russ is out of contract after the 2023 season. He most likely wasn't going to stay, so it's good we got a decent haul for him while we can. Even if he did stay he would be wanted a MASSIVE pay day, probably crippling us again like last time when he became the highest paid QB in the league and the Legion of Boom fell apart as a result. Fant is a great pickup. Shelby is decent. Lock sucks. But assuming we can draft a rookie, like Malik Willis, with the #9 overall pick this may be our ray our hope for the future! Also means we'll have free cap space for the next 5 years as we wouldn't be paying $40+ million a year for a QB. Also don't let the stats fool you. Anyone like myself that watched every Seattle game last season saw the dramatic decline in Russ. Maybe it was the play calling, maybe it was the O-Line but he has developed a genuine issue with extending plays too long and failing to convert 3rd downs. To the point you could actually make a small fortune betting against it. All of last season he looked like a fish out of water bar a few amazing long ball plays. I'm not sure if we'll ever see peak Russ again and this may have been the right time to pull the trigger.

Rams fan here that is huge news I'm happy for the Denver Broncos and their fans they finally have a legit quarterback since John Elway and Peyton Manning. So it's been a struggle for a while and I know Shannon Sharpe is happy as well the AFC is loaded. The Broncos may not have had a good team for quite some time but they've always competed and the defense is pretty good. They have a lot of young talent, the fanbase is excellent, and I think it's a perfect fit for Russell Wilson great opportunity.

Who won or lost is still way up in the air. Russel could be the Next Peyton Manning and take the Broncos to a Super Bowl or he could falter (he wouldn't be the first superstar player to get traded to a new team and struggle) after all, there have been legitimate concerns about the possible decline of Russel's skill level. The Seahawks, on the other hand, have no idea who their starting QB is going to be in 2022, this could be just the first move in a chess game to get someone who will plug right into Pete's schemes. So hold off on declaring a winner for a while.

The fact they gave up the same amount of first round picks for Jamal Adams as they got in return for trading Russell Wilson is TERRIBLE. Lock is absolutely nothing to brag about. Shelby Harris is a very good veteran on the dline, but he doesn’t fit their timeline whatsoever now. Two fifths is nothing to brag about. The seconds could be huge because they actually draft somewhat well in that round, and Fant has high potential, but this trade is an absolute loss for the Seahawks. Russ is a franchise qb. Those don’t come around very often.

I think you underestimate how much offensive talent the Broncos have that wasn't being used because of a) poor quarterback play and b) poor coaching, both of which they've made moves to solve this offseason. I think they're a bit of a sleeping giant. They just needed QB and a pass rusher. Even the loss of Fant is tolerable because they have Okuwebugnam who has flashed more than Fant has.
