Not sure what you paid for the RR13 or RR15; however, is the RR15 better than both of the RR13(the two bottles are probably the cost of the one RR15)? I was disappointed that the price of the RR13 rose so dramatically, but all of the distilleries are taking advantage.

That’s a tough question. Is a RR15 better than all RR13’s? I’ve done side by side with 2-5, and yes, it is for those. Would I rather have a RR15 or 2 RR13’s? That’s hard to answer, but at this point I would say yes, if they were RR13 B4/5 and no if the RR13’s were batch 3. I thought the RR13 B3 was much closer to the RR15 profile than B5.

Congratulations on scoring one at MSRP! Form everything I’ve seen the RR15 is still pretty scarce, but hopefully that will change the rumored production numbers are real. I know most people I know are still hunting for one. I’ve been out of town for a few weeks and bottle will have opened up by the time I’m back. I’ll put out a followup blind with some other bottles when I’m back. Cheers and congratulations again!

I tried the RR15 last night. Perfect nose and great palate. It's easily a whiskey of the year contender but that price tag is getting crazy. I'm glad I didn't spend the money to buy it and just drank some of a friend's bottle :). When I sit down to drink a pour by myself at home I really don't like oaky whiskey so the oak bombs just never make it to my glass.

That is a great synopsis… Perfect nose with a great palate. I do think the nose is out of the world and the palate is great, but the nose really shines. I’m a Russell’s fan boy and had to make an exception for this release. I usually pass on the 200+ MSRP releases because they destroy my bottle budget. I dig to oak personally and for me this is a great unwind pour when I have time to sit and enjoy it. Cheers man and glad you have buddies with the bottle, that usually make the pours taste better too 😂

I have been saving my bottle budget for a while to ensure I would own one of these and had a hard time spending the 400+ after shipping for 4 bottles… that was my largest purchase to date, but super happy to own one. Already down to the label and need the chill 😂. Cheers 🥃

I want one of these so bad! Chances are I won't be able to get one though. I have such a hard time getting any special releases from wild turkey! Sucks because I love the pours I have been able to try CNF was one if not the best things I have ever had!

There is no batch 5 of RR13… there were 2 bottling runs of batch 4.

Yeah man, it’s absolutely killer! It’s basically a little more nuanced with the oak and berry notes than RR13. I opened a B3 RR13 over the weekend and the fresh crack on that bottle was a batter comparison than the batch 5 I used in this video.

Single barrel store pick RR is just as good and way cheaper. Just won’t pay over MSRP.

Just as good?? Have you tried RR15 or are you just basing it on your preferences? I have 6 different RR picks and 2 are vastly better than the other 4. I’m happy to own a RR Single Rickhouse CNF and it is leagues better than my RR picks, even my CNF pick that came out ahead in my RR pick blind. I agree it isn’t worth spending a ton over msrp on any of these but I would still love to own one close to msrp. Especially as someone that loves WT products (not their pricing though).

I would agree that the RR13/15 definitely deliver an elevated experience with far more oak influence than current RR picks. That’s not knocking RR picks, because they are incredible, just in a different category IMO. 🥃
