Похоже я ошибалась, синхронное плавание в исполнении мужчин может быть совсем не безобразным. Очень красиво. И надо сказать, этим первым мужчинам в синхронке труднее, потому что они только начинают.

Russians won the preliminary with the same routine. For the final, all of the judges gave the Russians 9+scores except one judge who gave it a 7. Russia said that 36 year old Bill May was given the medal for just being in the sport for 10 years and bringing the sport back to its roots (started out as a male sport) and to sabotage Russia's winning streak in synchro. Fina only added the sport 6 months before the Championship. Russia protested at first because they had everything prepared ahead of schedule and in Russia the sport rules said synchro is only a female sport like most countries. Many countries protested beccause even if they did agree to it they didn't have male to send in and the short notice didn give them time to prepare a good routine. Only eight pairs competed. Six had two routines prepared. Countries who were for the sport generally rank low in synchro for women like USA (again sabotage Russia's domination of the sport). The qualifications were simple. They had to be a man and can at least attempt to synchro. No previous titles counted. Keep in mind that the only one who has actual experience was Bill May and had won medals. You could see why Russians felt something was up. Russia changed their rules after the Sports Minister watched Maltsev during practice. Maltsev asked him if he had liked it anf to let him compete. The Sports Minister changed the rules so Maltsev could. Russia was sending in a 20 year old that had been practicing the sport since he was 7 year old. Maltsev had won awards too outside of Russia. In Russia an athlete really needs the government's help because the Kremlin pays for their equipment and trips. All the athlete has to is practice and show up at events to compete. A young man like Maltsev probably couldn't find the money to enter him in the same contests Bill May was in. His job is being a synchro man in a team that performs in a (fancy) mall on weekends while May had been in Cirque De Soleil.

I loved this communism in sport. I would love to see more stories like this. Russian's performance was amazing. They deserve 1st place for sure. Judges don't have guts , taste, talent to admit it.

It's really sad that Russia keeps on the military theme, even in such a beautiful sport as synch. swim. The man's look really turned me off in this.
@canineenigma76549 жыл бұрын
Yes it is sad that Russia is paying tribute to the 27 million Soviets that died in the Great Patriotic War. Sure there isn't Russian today that doesn't have a relative who die in the war, many which are still being found today (Tomb the Unknown soldier), and medals to lost soldiers are still being claimed today by their relatives (a website had to be made to speed up the process). I mean it's not like The Great Patriotic War is embedded in their DNA or something. Quite sad that 20 year old Maltsev is paying tribute to the young soldiers who died in the war. Who cares that 80 percent of the male population died by the end of the war which is the reason why Russia population today is mostly women. Get your head out of ass.

Disregarding the ignorance of the commentary, I allow myself to tell you that the choreography does not go about war, but about DEFENCE OF YOUR COUNTRY, YOUR NATION, YOUR FAMILY, YOUR CIVILISATION AND HUMANKIND. It is a beautiful choreography about love, solidarity, humanity!!!
