Russia increasing military budget just because of war involvement since last 2 years but India's main aim for now is development. Look at infrastructure budget of bharat. We are focusing on education, infrastructure, border safety, manufacturing etc. So not now but soon we will be in the top 3.

AGREED, Indian defence budget should be at 2.8 percent of GDP (104.5 b$), currently we are not ready to face of China. Also India needs to Increase Forex and food reserves to sustain in any large war

no not necessarily for the near future. as alocating more budget to military will only hamper our economic growth and will affect in long term.we should decrease operating expenditure of military and focus on modernization . its the weapons and tech that lead us in war. so yes 50-50 or 40-60 should be there. agniveer scheme is the way forward for reducing that

China is getting stronger day by day because of economy not because of army. China doesn't even spends 2% of it's GDP on Army while we spends more than 3% of our GDP.
