Ivan I am a mechanical engineer and worked in all kind of industries. But in a big plant there is one thing important to keep it running : preventive maintenance. You need to plan this and have the specialist and spare part available. As we know, a lot of the important installation in Russia are western made. They had the money, so why should they make it if you can buy better quality. But no spare part are delivered any more. That was clear the moment the sanctions got imposed. The economists say there is no problem. I am a simple but experienced engineer and said from the beginning : problems will come. And here they are. No technicians, no foreign specialists, no spares, no more petrodollars; all will stop. Wait and see. I am Belgian and we got gas and oil from Russia, but we have other suppliers; And I can clearly state : nobody in Europe is interested in Russia.

On the flip side, North Korea's clearly eyeing for real-world combat experience, and its sights are set on South Korea. Same story with China, which is developing drone's tech for Russia trying to learn as much as they can from the real-word combat to gear up for Taiwan. What's striking is that people in Taiwan and South Korea seem pretty chill about it, thinking an invasion is a distant threat (from what I talk to friends living in both countries). Déjà vu, anyone? Ukraine thought the same thing just over two years ago.

For people not understanding Heat hot water (steam) is supplied like most get electricity, from a central generation source piped to its customers. Its not on site, and old infrastructure of pipes everywhere, unavailable parts and dead men that knew how to fix and service these plants is a major problem. Think of this for a minute, old steam pipes running all over town to businesses, apartment complex's supplying steam (often in above ground insulated pipes too) is a major requiring constant Maintenace before winter sets in when one would NOT want any potential problem during winter. areas to replaced, serviced beforehand. this is not being done and if a steam line fails in wintertime that whole section could very quick freeze in pipes.
@jimglenn69726 күн бұрын
It is going to get much worse. The military industrial complex is sucking up all the available workers and ruble will crash. I don’t know when but when the government runs out of money, there will be no support for the currency. I also think that many people in Africa and Asia are now finding out how their citizens have been mistreated so there will be fewer people who want to move there.

Heard something like 40% of the munitions sent to Russia for the fighting in Ukraine failed to work. Might want to keep your eyes on the situation between North and South Korea, might get dangerous. As far as people in Russia not having heat for the coming bad winter, didn't a bunch of pipes freeze and bust last year because the people who usually did the maintenance were shipped to Ukraine.

Don't receive any compensation for the experience and the winters are even worse. Russians have to realise their own government doesn't care about them at all.
