@@TheDog_Chef It's a diplomatic chess game where keeping China close to France will make France less of a bigger target from Russia, China, North Korea, and others close to these nations. It makes for greater accountability for China and its allies to consider France a friend of China. Changing the point of view is intelligent and strategic to see every situation diplomatically in order to win at the political chess game. But I know you get it all the same. The best way to end a war is to never start one in the first place. Just like how the best way to stop divorce is to end marriage. It's the law of cause and effect and terms that no longer suit one or both parties in a legal setting. The same is true for nations and statecraft. Strategy should be front of mind when playing these political chess games. Macron being the liaison between the EU and its adversaries provides a medium in which conversations and dialogue can continue in the hopes of resolving conflict and disputes before they escalate to kinetic warfare. War sucks. It's terrible what humans in large groups can do to other humans. History tells us this fact about our human nature.
