Right first time. The last bit doesn't mean anything. Just take the 50 in 1980 and inflate it to today. Though CPI inflation is likely significantly understated. Ratio was about 17 on 21 January 1980. 850 gold, 50 silver. You could adjust gold to today too. Looks like CPI has risen 4x so gold 850x4 = 3400 with silver near 200. Ratio 17 as per 1980. It looks like it's unlikely to me that ratio will return except in extremis Mad Max scenario or maybe for 1 day as per 1980.

Mario, it might be a good idea to do a video projecting the impact of Trump’s election on the gold price. He has threatened to put high tariffs on countries that do not rely on the dollar for trade, and has said that he will only use sanctions sparingly, so the dollar is not impacted. I think these impacts are likely to be negative for gold for the time being, although if the deficits continue growing that is still supportive of gold. A video on these things would be helpful.

If you’re planning on destroying fiat currency to replace it with CBDC then you need some intermediate store of wealth for the transition. It can also serve as a means to demonstrate legitimacy for the fiat replacement by saying “CBDC is gold backed”. That may explain why central banks are quietly building up their gold reserves in preparation to collapse fiat. Once the transition to CBDC is made gold can then be dispensed with forever (in their view).
