The absolute irony of talking about bad investments and then taking a masterworks sponsorship. They should force youtubers to invest all the money they get from the sponsorship and associated video into said sponsored scam and hold it there till the market crashes. Crypto just happened, scandals abound and still somehow Masterworks comes in and reputable creators sponsor it. If you're gonna drag yourself through the mud cause YT's monetization is abusive, then PLEASE just take a Raid: Shadow Legends or Warthunder or WoWs sponsorship. Heck, take literally any mobile game sponsorship and I'll cheer along. Masterworks is an obvious ponzi/pyramid scheme, much like crypto became. Come on, you don't have fish memory and we know it. You see the writing on the wall too. Don't be the one to lead people down into the dark.

The way Russian troops were operating around Bakhmut and Soledar is well documented by the air recon unit Птахи Мадяра (Madyar's Birds). Russians were advancing in small groups 4-9 soldiers to minimize the chances of large units getting destroyed by the artillery fire. These small groups would advance, take fire, and uncover some Ukrainian positions. Those who move behind them would correct artillery fire. So when you hear about "human wave attacks," know that these are small but very frequent waves with no armor support.
@karsonwhatley3347
@karsonwhatley3347 Жыл бұрын
According to a Ukrainian soldier on the front line, these first waves consisted of poorly trained conscripts (which is very very tragic). Once the positions were uncovered, the better trained Wagner fighters or Russian SpecOps move in afterwards with combined arms tactics and maneuverability. Unfortunately, not the worst strategy if you’re Russia rn.

Basically, troops to be sacrificed in order to get any kind of intel. It "works", in the sense that they get information and can advance but they wont be able to hold that land, while sustaining insane losses. It is well known that Kremlin doesn't care about losses but the amount of cost translates into further effectiveness on the battlefield, we will see if this is Severdonetsk into Kharkiv counter-offensive 2.0.

I suspect the increase in infantry use has a lot to do with the terrain conditions... I am looking at recent videos from the Bakmut region and suspect both sides understand that use of even light vehicles would be disastrous as the ground is too soft.... my experience with similar ground tells me that even running unarmoured pickups would turn the ground into a quagmire.
@Edax_Royeaux
@Edax_Royeaux Жыл бұрын
Russia lost a considerable amount of equipment in the opening days of the invasion and in the Kharkiv counter offensive. With Putin's mobilization, the increased use of infantry is a natural byproduct. The ground in Bakhmut shouldn't be that soft in winter when it's frozen solid. They are getting very close to the mud season however.
@marcusaustralius2416
@marcusaustralius2416 Жыл бұрын
@Royeaux problem is however that the winter has been warm enough that only the top layers of mud have frozen solid, which is not enough for massed vehicle usage This favours Russia as they can throw more men at an area, relying on sheer attrition Ukraine on the other hand, is far more mobile as an army, and thus relies on solid ground so that they can fight their way around the Russians as opposed to through them Come the rasputitsa however, neither side will be able to do much, and we'll only really get a solid idea about who will win come May-July
@Kaiserboo18719
@Kaiserboo18719 Жыл бұрын
@@Edax_Royeaux More then likely, mud season will signal the start of a winding down of fighting where both sides lick their wounds and rearm for the next round of fighting, at most we might see small scale air raids, artillery barrages, and infantry taking potshots but no offensives.
@Kaiserboo18719
@Kaiserboo18719 Жыл бұрын
@@marcusaustralius2416 I think we will see offensive operations cease during the rasputitsa, neither side will be able to maneuver so it would be best to hunker down into trenches and wait for the ground to either freeze over or dry out (if such a thing is possible). Fighting during this phase will likely look like small scale raids by infantry and air force, artillery barrages, and infantry taking potshots. But other then that no grand offensives.
@Edax_Royeaux
@Edax_Royeaux Жыл бұрын
@@Kaiserboo18719 Maybe maybe not. There's talk of another offensive to take place on the anniversary of the war. Rasputitsa would make things hard moving Russian tanks and mechanized transports, since they've already lost so many they may try a massed infantry attack whom could fight in the muddy terrain that Ukraine would have difficulty supplying. Something like the Ludendorff offensive in the final year of WWI.

Anyone know what the deal is with announcing tank deliveries? We keep seeing these things labelled as game changers. But there's many different types of tanks which means many different types of training, so logistics are difficult. Would they have actually been delivered months ago, and announcements of their delivery made when training is almost finished?
@KingsandGenerals
@KingsandGenerals Жыл бұрын
Deliveries will start in March. We are not sure about the training, but it had possibly begun in 2022 and is backdated. Leopards are relatively easy to control if you know a Soviet tank, Challenger and Abrams are more complicated. Behind all the hype is something most people are missing - alongside 100-150 Western tanks, 150-200 Soviet tanks have been pledged recently from Poland, Czechia and possibly Morocco.
@affinity200
@affinity200 Жыл бұрын
I am personally not interested in the term "game changers" which seems to have been applied for every new set of weapon systems; From GMLRS and HIMARS to the Baraktar TB2 drone and probably even some missile being used by russia; I think the point is the (so far) lack of response by russia upon the formal announcement upon another new weapon system being delivered to Ukraine (note that they have threatened and not dramatically escalated upon each successive weapon set type delivery. So its less about how much a weapon system will affect the war, but instead the revelation that Russia has not been able to find a 'balanced' response to the 'escalation' of a new weapon type being delivered. In the future, this may play out for battle jet aircraft.

Can someone define for me the difference between a 'legal invasion' and an 'illegal invasion'? The term invasion is self-explanatory.
@Syn_1
@Syn_1 Жыл бұрын
officially a Legal invasion is one that is justified. So, if Country A was provoking or causing terror, or even skirmishing and attacking, Country B, it would be Legal for country B to invade. An illegal invasion would be "lmao what if we took that country cuz why not" That's why in every invasion in recent decades, the invading country always finds some excuse even if stupid. America tried to play the "they have WMD's they could use against us!" in Iraq and Russia used several stupid excuses with the main one being to stop a fictional genocide.

coupele of notes: President of Belarus is Lukashenko, not Lukashenka. Lukashenko is also not joining the main Russian offensive not due to personal interests, but as a strategic decision, he is very much invested in Russia winning, and he is completely supportive of the Russian operation, as was said by him in the first week of the invasion of last year. Wagner PMC group is not just some random private military group that was allowed to exist against the Russian law. Prigozhin is a very close member of Putin's inner circle, the Wagner group was created to cater to Putin's geopolitical interests. Thus, Wagner exists not just because it serves a purpose, it was created for that specific purpose and isn't going anywhere.

Regarding the artillery shells 'shortage', I don't know how usefull soviet stockpiles would be, much of it might have expired by now. If you count 30 years shelf life for artilery shells, no soviet shells are usefull. And if you extend that to 40-50 year that adds only 10-20 years of stockpiles and those might be a off questionable use/quality. The question also is whether the Russian army actually kept up high production numbers or whether this was just more on paper/in planning. I can definitely see it being decreased right after the fall of the USSR and the economic downturn in Russia.
@KingsandGenerals
@KingsandGenerals Жыл бұрын
The overall conclusion of the military experts is that no modern economy can produce weapons or ammunition on the WWII or even Cold War level. As a result, long term big army operations are problematic. Russia has stocks, but the quality of storage is questionable.

@@jakekilley9037 Remember that a lot of the money involved in donations are from stockpiled weapons and vehicles that were eventually going to be replaced. The money was already spent. Countries are not friendly with each other in the real world and realistically you need to always be on alert. Power projection is at the heart of geopolitics. Doubt billions simply would solve world hunger. Infrastructure and the building up of it takes so much more. Buying food for 37 billion would not increase the supply. It would just drive up prices globally. On top of this, a lot of governments of poorer countries are very corrupt, and funds of course gets very mismanaged. It isn't like you can give money and control who it gets payed to. The government of that country decides.

@@pikenote look at the statistics right now if we spent 37 billion on helping the poorest into small homes giving them a small farmable plot of land buying there food at decent livable prices wed create a new food market meaning less poverty less global hunger.
