Russian Almond Acrylic Sculpted Nail - The Costs of Blingy Nails

Hi Guys,
This is the second video in my full look series and I decided to change up the shape of this one. Now, I haven't done a Gothic almond/Russian almond, in quite some time. It's a great shape really and I wanted to show you guys something a little bit different.
It actually fits very nicely with the theme of this look, but instead of adding gold detailing, like I did in the first video, I decided to bling it up!
One thing I get asked quite a lot is, "How much would you charge for a design like that?" Now I actually used to count every single crystal, but these days I do a quick assessment and then make up a number haha!

Need help:. I do my own nails, I either wear acrylic or my natural nails. After cleaning up cuticles I wipe my nails with acetone, use primer, apply a thin coat of clear gel polish, capping the ends, apply 2 thin coats of colored gel polish and finish with clear gel and it will peel off in a matter of minutes.

How would you continue this shape with fill-ins? I would assume the hidden apex moving up will throw off the structure even if you rebalance the top apex. There would be a thin than thick then thin again on the underside. Maybe only good for full set and 1 or 2 fills then you need to soak off and star over?

8 to 10 pounds for all those stones? And they're Swarovski? Wow, that is a deal. I don't know any place in Portland, Or that would only charge that much(apx $10-$13) for that many and size of Swarovski stones. Then again, the last time I had my nails done to that extant was about 2yrs ago. Maybe times have changed. But to me, that is still a deal.

question! i skimmed through the comments and didn't see it so i'm sorry if this has been asked/answered, but: i saw that you cured the gel and then put the bead of acrylic on to support the large stone. in the video i didn't see you file away some of the gel. did you do that and cut it out or is that not necessary? i'm asking because i'd be afraid the acrylic wouldn't adhere to the smooth gel (not enough to support a big stone, anyway). thanks!

nihaokaili I know this is late but! I'm sure the chemical reaction between the gel and acrylic bonds and would be able to support large stones. Kind of how the gel sticks to acrylic. I am not one hundred percent sure, but I don't think she would have not put it in, the channel is educational and I don't think she would leave some thing like that out?

lolll I know that you do Acrylic on Fingernails, but has Kirsty done any Acrylic or Gel on toes... I know some people in Salons refuse to do toes but I've seen it done and how long would they last? I didn't know that American Measurements was that intriguing, we call Pints a measurement and you call it what you want at a Pub a Pint, even though that is still measurement used for what we say here Beer Glass :) I thought that US and Britain had the same measurement until 1965 Britain went Metric.

I have a feeling I'm going to want to recreate this entire set..... I have a question: my entire (big!!! 😫😫😫) bottle of liquid acrylic has turned into a mass of hard jelly. The bottle was closed, but there is a lot of sun hitting my desk where I had left it. Was it the sun? The heat in general??? Can you give me an educated guess? Big warm hug from the Caribbean.

Reflexology52 Welsh yes you can. I clip mine off with old tweezers, or put 99% alcohol in cotton an leave it on top of crystals for 5 mins..... they'll fall off.😊

only if it's water. different density - different weight. a cup of water, a cup of oil and a cup of air have different weight to them. that is why weight measurements are better to use (unless it's flour, and that's when you measure approx., by an eye, bc every batch of it has different properties)
