@@gansrusish4729 He meant cinematic in the most literal sense of the word. The way the Polish version was realized was very much like Polish movie translations have been done in the 90's and are done to this day. A neutral narrator voice reading translated lines is layered over the original audio track. This was done as it was cheaper but it has since became a standard. The exact same method was used for the STALKER series with Mirosław Utta being the narrator, who has also done voiceover work for many movies in the 90's. The Polish localization of STALKER is a very Polish localization because of that. Anyone who wasn't born and raised in Poland won't understand how genius it was and will see it as weird and silly.

As a Pole, Ukrainian for me sounds as something akin to eastern version of Czech language. It is soft and sometimes kind of "funny" sounding for us (Poles), as is Czech. There are lots of words that are the same/similarly sounding to the Polish ones and what is the most important, they extremely often are similar to diminutives of our words, so both languages sound kind of "cute" and "soft" if that makes any sense. On top of that, I've noticed Ukrainian has plenty of words similar to the English counterparts, which I found quite interesting. At least that's my experience, especially when visiting my GF's parents in Ukraine.

@@AvagerAs it was for me, when I played the Witcher 3 in the original Polish language. I love this, because it adds more context and for me as Ukrainian - it is more understandable, because there are much more similar words and they sound exactly the same as in Ukrainian. But I never thought that some language is "funny" or "goofy", they are all different. Since 2022 I've found more russian words that are really funny now. But I think this is not for long. Ukrainian voices in Stalker were different with accents and emotions, but russian was some like in one temblor or temp. Of course, the Ukrainian language is more iconic, cause it adds more context and accents. I've played in both languages to compare and Ukrainian is more suitable for the Stalker series IMHO.

Oh and concerning ukrainian language I also can add that the most noticeable difference (for russians at least) is that russians pronounce 'g' sound (letter 'г') like g in "game" while in ukrainian language and accent it is like g in spanish word "gente" (in received pronunciation of english it is like h in 'behind'). Also ukrainians always pronounce 'o' like o, while in Russian 'o' is pronounced as 'a' if it is unstressed (we write "spasibo", but pronounce it like "spasiba", "golova" = "galava", etc). In Russia, this is partially preserved only among the old people in rural places and in the southern regions bordering Ukraine like Kuban.

@@greenghost5009 most of Ukrainians are able to speak Russian without any slightest accent and therefore could easily switch between the languages, like Russian for interrogation and cursing them, Ukrainian - for life and mundane stuff. Doesn’t work vice versa though, native Russian jaws crumble beneath the weight of Ukrainian phonetics (read/watch «паляниця» meme).
