It is hard to tell because of the different directions of their movement, but the target certainly _appears_ to move _vastly_ faster than the interceptor. Perhaps the published capability of the interceptor is bogus?

От МБР кроме нашей A-135 есть есть еще Aegis, GBMD. А от баллист.ракет средней и малой дальности так систем ПРО больше десятка наберется. Хотя от более-менее современных МБР типа Trident-2 и (особенно) "Воевода" никакое ПРО не способно ничего защитить.

This was gazelle missile. Worlds fastest missile. This missile was used as a second hand incase the gorgon missile failed to intercept. The gorgon had a small nuclear charge that was beleved to be enough to take down the enemy warhead. It was not werry prezise but could get close enough and then detonate itself. The gorgon is not in use now anymore. Only the gazelle missile. What you see here is an old test range. The missile defence system is fully automatic with large pechora x and y radars and space monitoring for early warning. The automatic battle sequence will be done by 360 main battle controll radar.

Чувак, ты бы поучился общаться. Лазер в атмосфере имеет принципиальную проблему -- эту самую атмосферу. Рассеяние лазерного луча очень значительно, потеря энергии тоже. Далее -- что бы уничтожить цель ее нужно как следует нагреть. А насколько реально быстро нагреть обшивку боеголовки, которая сконструирована для полета в плазме во время входа в атмосферу? а если установить еще абляционное поекрытие? А если туман и облачность и дождь, пожар или специально произведенный в атмосфере взрыв, который

Да, жаль что фильм таким коротким оказался. Единственное, поясните, это что за ракета такая? Для межконтинентальной ракеты, типа "Сатана" как-то шустро она вылетела из шахты. Прямо как зенитный комплекс С-300, если не быстрее. Почему спрашиваю, просто я думал, что в шахтах устанавливают именно тяжелые межконтинентальные ракеты. Они охренеть какие здоровые. Из шахты вылетают медленно и не оставляют за собой так много выхлопных газов.

They switched to nuclear because of the development of new icbms and slbms, however they were planning to continue development of the conventional hit to kill warheads, until the salt 2 and abm treaty, at that point the russians were far ahead in that field. The old russian abm was designed against intermediate missiles, in that respect the new american SM-3 has similar capabilities because it cannot intercept Russian ICBMs, only medium range missiles that iran might posses.

Мы отстали если быть честными..Просто во время ВОВ и гонки вооружения, Туполев, Сухой, Калашников и прочее Великие люди..Делали оружие, которое опережало всех на 50 лет.. И тогда равных их оружию, самолетам и т.п. не было! Но сейчас... Знаешь, что наши же заводы, уже сделали тысячи оружия превосходящего и автоматы/пулеметы Калашникова, и снайперские винтовки лучше СВД, но мин.обороны говорят, что у них просто нет денег чтобы заменить вооружение...(

В Зеленограде например тепловизионные матрицы начали выпускать. ЧПУ станки сами делать. Литографию на 150 нм освоили. SSD диски роснано делает. Наши радио станции "Азарт" вдруг стали по передаче данных и помехозащищёности лучше натовских. Вот так вот. освоили выпуск высокотехнологичной продукции начиная с нуля! Есть желание все делается . Только жалко что не показывается это. Одно беспокоит это патриотизм молодого поколения. И вообще моральная деградация . Вот это пугает. Поколение тик токеров вырастает.

I agree ABM is necessary, however US doesn't need to bankrupt itself with it. Military analyst say that current ABM would need to 10 interceptors to destroy a single Russian warhead, so US isn't going to have a capability to neutralize Russian nuclear deterrent any time soon. Even if US does develop a capable ABM, the Russians will simply make more ICBMs that are harder to intercept, aka a new cold war. US has an opportunity to work with Russia on ABM against iran, but politics are their usual.

Russia has been always ahead of everyone else in missile tech and aerospace defense since (RIP) Sergey Korolev. The S-400 Triumf is THE BEST anti aircraft & anti cruise missile, anti-ICBM defense system. It can hit a RCS of a golfball sized target from 5m up to 400km in every direction, Stealth wont save against S-400. Horizontal & Vertical. S-500 is in development that will be able to take down objects in SPACE. Even the old S-300 is considered one of the best still in the world.

хуня не хуня, а аналогов в мире не имеет. Это-же полигон, а не боевые позиции. На полигоне главное даже не попасть, а штатно отработать и получить максимум телеметрии для анализа. Насколько я понял испытывали не ракету, ей подтверждали ресурсы, а испытывали новые боевые вычислительные комплексы на основе Эльбрусов (желтые шкафы). Этим объясняется присутствие в кадрах старичков и старушек, это испытатели от головной организации (видимо)

+Joseph RT What you describing is so called pseudo-ballistic re-entry trajectory and answer is probably yes because this missile (53T6) is deployed with 10 kT thermonuclear warhead, so its not destroying target directly, but with heat and blast effects and some distance (few thousends meters) from target in moment of warhead inicialization stil means effective target engage. Otherwise, for US ABM kinetic interceptors like THAAD, its impossible to hit such manouvering target (which is why every current russian re-entry vehicles using pseudo-balistic trajectories together with other countermeasures).

You realize B-2s have to be kept outside of RSFR airspace because they would be shot down by missiles guided by L-band radar? Russians always were half a generation behind US air force - they will build 250 T-50 fighters, you have a 186 total (F-22s). The US F-15s would stand little chance against an integrated SAM/Air force combo of the Russians - for a historic perspective, look at what a couple of missiles and 60 migs did against the US air force in Viet Nam.

The ironic thing is that USA is doing exactly the same mistakes as the soviets did. USA and Europe are heading to a default, because of their crazy spending, including ridiculous military spending. The old cold war is over, the new has started. Russia is buying 700 bill worth weapons, constantly competing with US geopolitically in Europe, Mid East and S America, the new cold war is all but obvious. Russia still can't compete w west economically, that where china comes in.
