In the sentence "Я не вижу студента", would the noun end in "а" even if you don't use negation?

This applies for masculine singular nouns with zero endings that refer to living beings. In both cases we ask the question "Кого?" Я вижу студента / Я не вижу студента; Я вижу слона / Я не вижу слона; Я вижу отца / Я не вижу отца
