You could fish with a lighter leader Do you know the mech weight of your reel? So you can try block the fish by locking your reel without breaking it.

mech is 135kg. The setup is built so the leader is the weakest point cause it needs to be. If use anything else my rod be the weakest and then the rod would break.

For sure another porbeagle best thing to do with that reel is not let it burn your reel the entire fight and turn drag down to get rid of fire for 6-10 seconds then turn brake back up and other then that nothing you can do

For some reason since the shutdown the 34m and 41m holes are full of porbeagles, I caught more porbeagle than cod, got bitten off twice too

Yeah my thoughts exactly cause as I said that I was only fishing this spot to help raise my skill yet getting sharks. Your safer to fish at the 190m hole. Just drop your line to 50m and you will find a mess of saithe and pollock.Oh use the small saithe fillets too.

u need a 110kg+ rod to make best use of that reel as the drag is pretty low

Can you explain how you fish? Because I can't catch any cod, how many seconds, etc

To be honest, I really think it's all based on luck/chance but close the bail after you cast. then when line is straight open bail to drop. As soon it hits the bottom of these holes like the 51 and the 34. Close the bail and reel slightly to get the lure from the bottom say about 5m and then start pirking. raise the rod and drop pause and repeat for better results. Got to be patience with the pirking before. I was just steady raising the rod without a pause and wasn't getting no fish until I slowed down. Anyways hope this is helpful.
