Update on the conflict in Ukraine for May 19, 2024...
- Russia has opened an extensive front in the Kharkov region, retaking territory lost during Ukraine's 2022 fall offensive;
- Ukraine is already suffering from a large and expanding strategic dilemma where its forces are overstretched and defense lines are collapsing;
- The opening of a new front places further pressure on Ukrainian forces, compelling Ukraine’s military leadership to exhaust what remains of their reserves;
- The only way to stop or reverse the course of the conflict in Ukraine now is for an extensive US-NATO intervention, though Western forces themselves will suffer from the same shortages their Ukrainian proxies now face;

"The goal is NOT to win these wars. The goal is to use the wars to wash money out of the tax bases of the United States and out of the tax bases of European countries and back into the hands of a transnational security elite. @@freeejah Many people, in the West, know that dark forces are trying to take away our freedom and they are trying to distract us from that danger by talking about Russians the same way the Nazis talked about Jews. It is very disturbing and we never had anything like it during the Cold War. They are supporting Nazis in Ukraine. A lot of sensible people, in the West, realize that if they were in the shoes of the people of the Donbass, Crimea and the rest of Russia, they would have to do the same thing to defend their families and their country.

Great show again guys, pity most of western governments are working for and following the propaganda set out in “The diplomatic documents of the elders of AIPAC” whose financiers are obviously funding them, please remember “Christ Is Lord” and what our saviour did in Matthew 21:12-13. It is sad that western governments have now become servants of a foreign land (AIPAC) and forgotten that “Christ is lord” and not AIPAC financiers. Judgment day is coming and orthodoxy may save you if you follow Christ and see him as your saviour and not AIPAC.

The Puppet Leadership that Oligarchs have installed , want the Colonial Empires back. They exploited Nations with IMF Help. Now the BRICS Trade Association stands in their way. That appears to be what is driving their desire to overcome Russia and China, as the two Nations who seem to contain the power to oppose them? The lifestyles of the G-7 Nations was constructed by colonial exploitation, now most of the Nations who provided them with cheap and free goods, appear to resort to Collective Bargaining. Just an FYI, the airfield in Crimea that got hit by ATACMS was an aircraft scrapyard and has been since the annexation in 2014. The MiG-31s that were destroyed were not airworthy anyways, and haven't been for many years by now, and they were being slowly scrapped for spare parts for operational airframes. So the only thing that was lost were some spare parts for MiG-31s, which is still a pretty painful loss, but it's nothing like losing operational MiG-31 airframes.
@santoriniblue8413
@santoriniblue8413 Ай бұрын
From what I heared there was a MiG-31 plus 2 Su27, this last model is operated by the Ru Navy, and are not precisely state-of-the-art. Whatever their state, as explained in this clip; regardless that it is a loss, it has no impact on the current battlefield. Even if they took out a nuclear sub, it is irrelevant to the battle theatre. This brings a world-wide debate that US Army Gen Milley posted that "regardless of the technologies" at the end is boots on the ground that defines victories. Regardless that his declaration was in defense of his service and of the Marines in the budget struggle ... it reflects the criticism that we have also seen in Israel and other countries where the ground forces where being deprieved of funds in favour of other more technological services and gimmicks. And the shock how all this technological multibillion bet and false sense of security was destroyed by Hamas, leaving the Israeli military blind. Like in the case of Russia, a minor economic cut in the Navy (strategic subs) means a great boost in conventional land warfare.
@thermalvision203
@thermalvision203 Ай бұрын
@@santoriniblue8413 I saw the satellite pictures of the aftermath, and it was two MiG-31 airframes on the famous and well-photographed scapping line, plus one Su-27 on some service plot that looked partially disassembled before the hit came. But even if these were functional aircraft, as you said, this won't matter at all in the long run.

You could be correct, but perhaps the effort to sever the supply lines, will be a bit farther West than Kyiv? There are 3 main Rail supply routes across Ukraine. That would end the War if it was cut off. The Troops that were stationed near Lutsk, were moved to Artemivsk last year. That region appears to be where NATO wants to position Troops. Kharkiv is a million-strong city. The city needs to be supplied, utilities and the metro provided, people fed and treated, protected, and Russians are not interested in putting this burden on their shoulders. Let Kharkiv be a headache for the government of Ukraine for now, and at this time the Russians will stretch the front and increase the buffer zone bypassing the city of Kharkiv from all sides. The war of attrition is fishing, showing the skill of a fisherman.
@mariannedijzel3075

For the same reason, would Russia really want to take Kyiv? Rather Odessa, and make what is left of Ukraine landlocked? Kyiv would also present Russia with a headache?
@user-xt8ty6hr3p
@user-xt8ty6hr3p Ай бұрын
@@mariannedijzel3075The only cities that are of strategic importance in a special military operation are Mariupol, Soledar, Bakhmut (Artemovsk), and Odessa, these cities will be fought for at any cost, since they are strategic fortress cities that give tactical and strategic advantages to either side. The value of Kharkov is only that it is a railway hub, but in order to get Kharkov, it is not necessary to storm it, it is enough to stretch the buffer zone towards the Sumy region and continue to move the front to the west. The maintenance of Kharkiv is a huge burden, provided that it is in a gray zone and this burden is on the shoulders of Zelensky, not Russia. When the buffer zone moves to the west, Kharkiv will naturally be surrounded and practically and actually enter the zone of influence of Russia. Similarly, Kiev is not a strategic target, otherwise Russia would have entered from Belarus. If you open maps on the economic geography of Ukraine, you will understand that the only piece that can still be economically valuable for both sides is Odessa, but it is actually surrounded by Russian forces, from Kaliningrad, Russian forces in Transnistria, from the sea and from the Kherson region. Economically, nothing else is of economic interest in Ukraine. Ukraine simply will not be able to provide for itself anymore, since the most delicious pieces in terms of resources and production are already in the hands of Russia. The storming of Odessa is possible, but do not forget that in Odessa there is one of the largest partisan anti-Nazi movements among the citizens of Ukraine, because no one has forgotten May 2, 2014.
@santoriniblue8413
@santoriniblue8413 Ай бұрын
It is a bad investment. The city is ruined, and would be a bad liability for the reasons you mentioned. And it provides no added-value to RU. In other conditions, they would probably go for it, but in the current scenario of uncertainess and scarcity of resources, no way. Better leave it for the Ukranians. Odessa is different, as this do would provide many strategic advantages, commercially and geopolitical.

I think the socalled American strategy of rushing in to take out their primary target during a war only works in guerilla style middle east wars. This tactic doesn't work against convenventional military. Not since the 1980's have the US military been trained to fight a conventional war. American war tactics aren't designed to fight conventional wars. They won't work in Ukraine/Russia. So ignore any 'expert' that suggests Russians aren't fighting like Americans. Whilst Russian forces were correct to withdraw in 2022 from the Kharkov region because they had less soldiers then Ukraine, it is accepted that to provide security to Belograd it must control the region of Kharkov. The Ukrainian regime was repeatedly warned not to attack Belograd but that didn't stop the West and Ukrainian supporters cheering. Now we are seeing the consequences.

The ground is now drying out considerably and the Russian tank columns are rolling on up to the Dnepr river and over it, since the west bank of that mighty river, a great natural fortification with the west bank much higher in elevation than the eastern bank. Despite the enormous amounts of money sent to Ukraine to ensure that this river line be fortified, little to nothing has been done to that end. Time is running out on Ukraine my freinds.

This offensive seems to be a sort of holding operation to draw Ukrainian forces away to stretch them out more than they are. It also seems like the operation is being used to draw out more Ukrainian artillery and air defenses to be destroyed in more open territory.

Many forget basic training were in NATO countries, 4-5 weeks. The reason now they need trainers in Ukraine because 90 percent of conscripts are now forced conscripts who would escape, not return if sent to NATO countries. Currently these get few days basic training then sent to the frontline. According to Ukrainian field officers their combat value and morale is almost zero. For comparison Russia still uses conscripts in Russia only, not sending them to combat and minimal training time is 6 months....

These are understatements, the US is in a bind knowing that it is being successfully challenged, not only by Russia with Ukraine, but the Chinese and their ever growing power and influence in the world. No, war is not only a matter of preparation, it's also a state of mind. It's out of our intention in the West to make war to any one, so we won't do it because WW2 was a lesson, that everyone remembers and the people don't want war at all !

Regarding the air base in Crimea, I don't think the Russian army leaves planes out of cover, especially Mig31s. The goal for the Russian army is to attract Atacms missiles to the base which is very well protected by anti-aircraft defense. Extremely expensive and unproductive attacks. As for the "destroyed" planes, they look like these planes seen from the sky and that's it.

As usual, a very astute analysis of the war and the geopolitics around it and before. Ukraine was always going to be used against Putin, after the break up of the old Soviet union, and capture of the old western Russian states, now,. Mostly, if not all them becoming ensnared in the EU. The original goal, after WW2 was probably just to prevent Russia from becoming a threat to the US, But somewhere along the way, someone, or a few people realised there was a potential to getting a hold on the huge resources and economic wealth, but the old communist Soviet union had cut itself off to the west, because of the cold war, and as that meant every other communist country was cut off, all that Wealth was out of reach, what was just a rivalry,I think, was why it ended up being a global "cold war" with Russia fighting proxy wars against the west. So Russia was painted as the evil threat to freedom, while the CIA and it's allies agencies spread unrest, created rebel forces, and generally did under the radar destabilising operations, to break up the communist "threat" and help install " friendly" dictators. Which were usually worse then the "bad guy" they replaced. That is why Iran is now the evil enemy, after the Shah outlived his usefulness, and was removed, but it backfired when the Ayatollah Khomeini spoke the unspeakable truth, that the US was the great Satan. You don't need too many brain cells to realise that now, lol. The CIA is still using the same old game plan. They still leak disinfo to the compliant and owned media. If it wasn't for the open internet, and independent journalism, and their ability to be able to use various platforms to get their reporting out. We would all be brainwashed sheep

An excerpt : On the front, Ukraine is facing one of its most rapid collapses of the war thus far. There are no two ways of mincing things: Russian sources report catastrophic losses for AFU who are woefully understaffed and underarmed. The largest scale of POW captures in the past year is currently ongoing, with over a dozen new videos just from today alone showing dozens of Ukrainian prisoners, including many Kraken: Even the Ukrainian female paramedics are pleading for help with the losses: As of this writing, the Ukrainian General Staff has announced a withdrawal of Volchansk, the largest city and stronghold of northern Kharkov region, though it’s unclear as of yet if it’s a full or partial one, as the wording is ambiguous: Frontline troops are frothing with anger at command: Russian forces have now even gotten within artillery range of Kharkov city itself, and there are reports they are hammering AFU positions on Kharkov outskirts from about 22-24km in Glyboke/Hlyboke. There are even reports of blocking detachments now waiting in the rear to intercept fleeing troops: And if you thought that might be imaginative propaganda, Russian forces reportedly captured one of the troops tasked with carrying out blocking orders of the sort, who attests to the fact: Either way, fighting was already being reported toward the center of Volchansk, whereas Russian forces had just reached the outskirts yesterday. Some reports stated Russian forces captured the administrative buildings near the center: _______ On the heels of that, whispers from the Sumy border have grown deafening. But nonstop rumors of major upticks in Russian DRG action, drones, artillery strikes, and more, all along the Sumy region: Read and watch in further detail at ; simplicius76.substack.com/p/sitrep-51424-putin-cleans-house-as

With a week now behind us since Russia opened up a new front in Kharkov area, there are somethings to take away from this with all the intel and information we have gathered. Russia was able to take in 4 days the same amount of territory as Ukraine did in it's 7 month long vaunted Counter Offensive. And it must be said and explained Russia did not go into Kharkov with a very big force. It can be said it is not anything bigger than a Recon in force size grouping. A very light force indeed. Russia has also gone on an Artillery hunt throughout the Kharkov area simply ravaging Ukrainian armor and artillery. Burnt out husks of equipment liter the Kharkov countryside in just a weeks time. During this time Russia was able to fight for several high ground locations and was able to push Ukraine off their advantageous locations. They have been able to take and secure no less than 15 small towns and villages. I say all that to say this, no matter the reasons no matter the how's or whys that Ukraine cannot hold and just merely slow Russia down. Leads me to believe that time is Running out on Ukraine's military. It is time to pack it up have Zelensky call Putin and start a direct dialog and move toward a peaceful end to the war. Time is not on Ukraine's side and waiting any long raises the chances Ukraine's military breaks and in a sudden push Russia will take whatever and however much of Ukraine they want

I'm sorry, Brian, but to my point of view, and regardless of this terrible situation in terms of human losses, this progress is very slow, and therefore allows Nato to escalate towards WWIII, bringing other countries and their troops in the mix. I know the favorite scenario of the Duran is that they only want to make Ukraine hold untill nov 24. Allow me to disagree. They are probably looking for a reason to project Nato troops, especially to Odessa. These guys ARE nuts. No reverse gear, remember? Consider inviting PCG to the Duran someday. His opinion would be interesting. Have a great day,

Although this war has cost a lot of Russian lives, the mass withdrawal of Western brands means they've had to sell the assets left in Russia for a song, sometimes 1 Euro, e.g. Nissan, HP, Renault etc... President passed a law stating they will receive only a maximum of 50% this has delivered many BILLIONS to the Russian economy --- a once in a lifetime opportunity created by the West, ultimately Russia will replace the $400B (theoretically) confiscated --- Nigeria, Senegal, Cameroon, Algeria, Saudi Arabia have ALL withdrawn their gold from the US Fed!!!

My friends grandson is a soldier in the NZ army and has recently returned back from the UK where he was training Ukrainian soldiers. He told him that some of the soldiers were his age, he is 66. Also he was told that the average time spent at the front for a Ukrainian soldier, before they were killed or wounded, was 3 months and 3 days. There is no limit to the psychopathy of the US/Western MIC and their bought political partners. The Minsk Accords made too much sense and peace was never the objective. If the global conflicts before October 7th were not enough, the MIC is now engaged in a genocide. These people do not ever consider humanity and happily exist in an empathy free zone. Thank you BB for your thorough analysis, based in reality, something we do not deal with in the West and especially here in the "Five Eyes" country of NZ.
