I want to share something about this. There are many traditions in the Indian villages which are similar to this. This particular ritual dance is called Bhoota Kola. The concept is that the dancer will purify himself first and then start the process where a Kshetra-pala (Guardian of the Land) who is a deity will possess the dancer. Then the deity will respond to the problems, wishes and questions of the people from the audience through that dancer. If you can, try watching the movie itself. Btw this video is Superb :D
