This was a great video to watch as a beginner wanting to try this technique on myself your video was so easy to follow and I LOVED what you said about "its not the tools it's the fools using them that do the damage" !! Applies to sooooooo much in life! Thank you for taking the time to film, edit, and upload for us!

I’m so happy I found your channel! I’m no professional, but I have learn on my own to do my nails since I don’t have the means to go every few weeks to have them done, but I keep searching for information to learn more because I like it, plus sometimes I do my mom’s and grandmother’s nails. This video was so informative and I loved it! So I sat down with notebook and pen to wrote down the information I needed to keep close. I watched a few more videos and I definitely can learn lots from you! Thank you for how well you give the information! I hope to keep learning more and more from you! 💜

I am a nail tech working Russian style. safety is key if you want that client's nails to be healthy. going a little too deep with a flame bit and the client will feel pain. anyways, when working on myself, I like to do the Russian manicure every other time, and when it's time to refresh simply push cuticles back and lightly buff them with a large diamond ball bit ;)

I’m watching, to learn how to avoid soaking and cuticle removers, for gel manicures. I’m hoping dry prep will reduce lifting! Your tip to increase RPM’s rather than pressure, really helped!!!

no matter beginner or advanced, cutting the living skin, eponychium is not safe and should never be done according to science and our Nail Technology book. ❤ if nail oil is applied as it should be, the skin around the nail shouldn’t become dry or rough looking ❤ the salon life youtube channel has many videos and proves this technique isn’t necessary.

What electric file would you recommend for those that use them on themselves?

Is that a dust collector around your e-file if so where did you get it and how did you get it to connect to your e-file?

Most things you practice on yourself first, but efiling I would go ahead and do the egg-practice trick. Grab a brown egg (you can hard boil if you’d like) and practice your pressure on it w/ an efile. Obviously, your pressure should be light enough where you don’t break it :)

You can find another versions of a flame bit, a bigger and fatter one. It's easier to use and the results is still clean.

I don’t love the Russian manicures bc they make your fingers look like toes. But I do love a dry mani, with the bits, but not excessive trimming.

Love your videos, at around what rpms are you using the cuticle bits, sometimes I think im running mine to slow 🙈 Thanks for the great videos!
@PaolaPonceNails2 жыл бұрын
Yes, usually we are running them too slow. Just remember that if the speed increases your pressure on the finger should decrease.

Great video as always ❤️ does the baby barrel bit from nail labo have sharp edges? Also where did you get your pusher from?
@PaolaPonceNails5 жыл бұрын
Hmmm... baby barrel is “flat” top, not sharp enough to nick a client. Pusher, I believe I bought from Skyline.

That’s totally fine. Some of my favorite are from enailcouture.com , paolaponcenails.com/erica , and Nail Labo. Code for Erica’s is ‘ppn10’.

Hi Paola, thank u for the tutorial. I really like ur work and ur voice! But The frame was too far And waaaay too fast. We can’t see the minute movements that u make, which r so important. Btw, to me personally the “barrel” bit is the most dangerous one cause of the sharp edge. One touch to the nail plate - and u r left with a dip in the nail. I would appreciate if u could show us precisely how u apply those same bits u talked about in this vid, up close and personal 😝😝😝
@PaolaPonceNails4 жыл бұрын
The barrel bit I showed is one of the safest! Not that this applies to you, but I was once told. It’s the fools that do the damage! Not the tools :) So true.

I’m sorry, but you do wrong and I think it’s not a good idea to show this to beginners. 1. It’s impossible to clean cuticle by working like this 2. You can leave lines on customers nails
@PaolaPonceNails4 жыл бұрын
Hi Tanya, Personally, in America we (judging from many of my clients) do not like the “excessive” deep cuticle cleaning. There is many diamond bits that do the work for us, sufficient to tidy up the cuticle & eponychium areas of the nails and provide for the long wear of nails.
@inessashegai7324 жыл бұрын
@Nettie Reynolds because even if she does make a tutorial, it would be 100500% hard to repeat it just by watching video on youtube. To get good at hardware manicure you need a lot of practice with a professional, watching process, you have no idea how many damage a wrong angle deals to your nail.🙌🏻
