As an American born in the 1950s, I spent nearly four decades swimming in anti-soviet, Cold War propaganda. Despite this, since my early teens, I've loved the Soviet/Russian national anthem. Politics aside, it is a beautiful piece of music that I love it to this day. I even use it as a ringtone on my iPhone, which gets me the occasional confused glance. This rendition, the kids, the orchestration, the grandeur, is simply outstanding. Thank you for sharing.

Guess what. I just had a dream of performing this anthem with my friend using only harmonica to the whole school. At first they didn't recognize it, and as soon as someone sings along, everyone smiles at me and start singing exactly like this. At the end, everyone cheers and claps then I woke up. I'm not even Russian. I live in Southeast Asia. But mother Russia called me.

One of my favorite versions of Russia's national anthem. I'm glad Putin brought back the old anthem in the early 00's (albeit with updated lyrics, but written by the same man who wrote the original lyrics), the soulless Yeltsin anthem should have never replaced this wonderful melody.
