You shouldn't have any doubts about that, cause so far, viewing even the modest honest reliable estimations, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have lost at least twice more military casualties than Russians. When I was a little boy, my grandfather told me a lot about WW2 and tank warfare. Back then German and American tankers often drove with open hatches to get better view range and hearing. Their doctrine was that unspotted and unlocalised danger is more dangerous than sticking the head out of the hatch. The tankers of the UsSSR usually had them closed. Germans noticed that the russian optics were good enough to spot something on the street but too bad to see the difference between a mine and a can. They tricked them with food cans. Apparently that might sill work :)

I try to be objective in any matter. There are many prejudices against Soviet-era military equipment. Despite the negativism, here and in some other videos it is shown that some Soviet-era tanks are difficult to destroy. These tankers feel healthy after such an explosion on a mine, as if a tire had just burst, and they calmly leave their tank. Anyone who sees this can only guess. From afar, through the screen, I can't say for sure. The video shows that none of them are shell-shocked. Everyone walks with their own feet without assistance. Of course, there will be a slight stun, but in general they came out of the tank cheerful.

Initially, he was driving at the very right of the lane and he would not have touched the mines. As he saw the mines, he went right into the middle of the road. I reckon, he has just had it.

Those mines can be hard to spot from inside the tank, while the driver sticking his head out through the hatch to better spot such obstacles can be risky, if enemies are around. And the tankers might well be new conscripts poorly trained. Nevertheless all three tankers survived and probably got away to fight another day. The tank itself might wait for which side controls the area in the end and can evacuate and repair the vehicle. WarLeaks suggest the tank appear to be a T-62.
