More excellent reporting. The Russian milbloggers on Telegram are starting to get concerned about the 5 or more Ukrainian brigades near Pokrovsk they seem to have lost track of. The Ukrainian General Staff most certainly factored in Russia continuing attacks in spite of Kursk.

Kursk is a "morale" booster for their Ukrainian population and the troops. How would history have been changed if the Wehrmacht had been bogged down after 2 years in Poland? What if the Wehrmacht had invaded Poland and not brought enough fuel or food to reach Warsaw? What if the Luftwaffe was not able have air dominance after 2 years in Poland? Why are all of the armchair generals ignoring the incompetence of the invader? This war should have been over in 3 weeks, or 3 months at most. What if Poland had invaded Germany in 1941? Would anyone still be saying Germany was going to win?

@marisabenson1222

We can be certain that even though Ukrainian command would have hope that russian troops would be moved they also would have considered chance that they would not. It's no secret that Russia outnumbers Ukraine in everything and that the autocracy allows dispensability. Whereas Zelenskyy's democratic government naturally restricts such actions. Therefore Ukraine cannot fight head to head along its front-lines. What Ukraine needs is the ability to strike Russian logistics and infrastructure that supports its war effort. It also needs Western promises on supply to be kept and for Ukraine's neighbours to hit missiles or drones if it's safe when they fly into their air space.

I think he referred to the fact that, traditionally, all oil transactions worldwide are done in dollar, and the fact some countries are no longer willing to keep using the dollar only (China, Iran, etc.)If I recall correctly "decoupling" the dollar from international trade would make it harder to impose successfully sanctions (insights into dollars and not into other currency), would drop the value of the dollar (might be completely off, but a 40% of all dollars used is for those trades comes to mind), and would open the door for other currencies to an extent that has not been reality so ar (euro could easily be called a stable currency, but still not the dollar in terms of scope), debts would be harder to control as the US can print extra dollars, which is an advantage for the US, but these effects are enhanced through this changed procedure and will lead to further unrest on the markets

"Independent Russian polling organization Levada Center published the results of a monthly poll on August 30 and found that about 78 percent of respondents support Russian military operations in Ukraine - an INCREASE from 75 percent in July 2024 and 77 percent in June 2024." The difficulties in shifting forces from the Kursk salient include the value of the territory as a negotiating chip, determining what force is necessary to hold a salient without prepared defenses, and the losses that will be incurred by withdrawing units along routes well know and probably pre-registered by the Russians. Even then, it would be days before any units moved can get themselves to the desired location and sort themselves out to enter the line. Recently, losses of the Russians and Ukrainians have been at parity because both are attacking. That’s terrible for the side that is already at a strong numerical disadvantage.

The only good thing about recent events is they all point to the imminent end of this stupid war. EU says "No" again to Zelensky on long range missile request. That is now four times in the past three days he has been told "no" by US/EU, on long range weapons/approval. Poland said "no more to give", Finland "no more to give", Hungary just blocked EU giving Ukraine Russian money, Serbia just told EU "No, we will not sanction Russia". Netherlands today: "F-16s we donated cannot be used to attack Russian civilian targets". Napolensky can't continue the fight with no weapons and no money. Thank God...."

The United States may soon face bankruptcy, businessman Elon Musk said. "At current rates of government spending, America is in the fast lane to bankruptcy. Government overspending is what causes inflation," Musk wrote on his page in the X social network. The state debt for the first time crossed the level of $35 trillion, the US Department of the Treasury said on July 29. According to forecasts of the Congressional Budget Office, it will be over $50 trillion or more than 122% of GDP in 2034. The Office estimated that the average annual growth of US GDP will be 1.8% in 2029-2034.

U.S. Military Base 'Bombed'; Loud Explosions Heard After Big Rocket Attack In Syria kzbin.info/www/bejne/b5_JpXSpoaeFgZo A big attack has occurred on an American military base in eastern Syria. The U.S. base, located in the Koniko oil field north of Deir Ezzor, was struck by multiple projectiles, resulting in explosions in the area. U.S. forces activated missile defence systems to intercept the incoming rockets. This assault is part of a broader trend of resistance forces targeting U.S. installations in Iraq and Syria, fueled by rising anti-American sentiment over U.S. support for Israel’s conflict with Gaza. The attack underscores the increasing regional tensions and threats to U.S. military positions. Times of india
