As a Russian born in Moscow, I must say that, as a child, if my parents brought me there, I’d get that famous ice cream. Otherwise, I loved visiting quite nearby Children’s World. And they too had that famous ice cream. When I got teenage-I loved to visit GUM for its architecture and flavor.

I went here a few times when I was collaborating on research at Moscow State University, nice place! SUPER nice bathrooms, weird thing to think about but they were some of the nicest and cleanest bathrooms I ever visited. Not sure if they still have it, but previously the bathrooms had free disposable combs, toothbrush and toothpaste, floss, hair gel, mouth wash, and mints. Did you visit the soviet style canteen? Interesting historical eatery!!!

The modern centers are nice, but GUM is in it's own class. It has real "character". Beautiful building and shops. Love the food offerings. The closing view down the lighted street was excellent. Enjoyed this vlog. Yes more like it.

That ice cream stand looks very appetising! The mall itself looks more like Italian style baroque theatre. The size of this luxury shop is epic! I was going to comment that I've seen something similar in Italy, but in Italy such arcades are much smaller. This store is most likely something very unique to Russia.

Так он и построен в конце девятнадцатого века😂, просто его отреставрировали , но там абсолютно всё дорого , большинство ходит как в музей , ну кроме знаменитого , московского мороженого😂, кстати его история тоже длинная 😂, приезжайте в гости к нам и будем рады 💖вам , будем дружить 🤝😂

As the 16y.o guy that lives in Moscow and often visits GUM i can say that i saw prices for those vines and other things for adults vary from 1.000₽ (10$~) to 50.000₽ (500$~) for coolest ones. Also as i know one can of black caviar ( not for the luxuriest ones ) are about 100-300$~. Was glad to answer!😊

I am no retailing guru but the very fact one in a thousand in that shopping complex was actually carrying a purchase would give me pause. I only watched to see if my “boycott list” of Western retailers still open for business in Russia was up to date. The ruble is steadily headed to 100 for every USD. I read that the ruble may be devalued and sink to 130:1USD depending on the anticipated collapse of Russian oil exports. Interesting days ahead! (I wonder what makes that 100-year-old recipe for ice cream so tasty?)

People visit Russia - their currency rubel lost 5% in last two weeks. The Russian economists anticipate next 5% till the end of October. The prices will be lower for non Russian with $ - 10% in just one month. It's cheap paradise. In November the rubel can go back a little. Visit St Petersburg or Moscow because the government knows the proverb "bread and games" and is putting a lot of money into entertaiment because the "bread" is getting expensive. Unless it's special "social" bread with lower quality and price.
