Russian Amoeba blew me away is was extremely effective. I didn't expect it to blend so well in this type of environment I guess you can't judge a pattern by it's colors. It also goes to show that just because a pattern is old doesn't mean it's obsolete.

What makes it so effective is the loose fit and that hood.. IMO the built in hood really break's up the human outline and does a good job of confusing the eye. This could be in a single flat earth tone and be just as effective, if not more so.. Its a good demonstration of why breaking up the human form is more important than "Color Matching"..
@talleman14 жыл бұрын
also you can wear the hood over a helmet. It is quite a easy, cheap and effective camo.
@Quinnlawl9 жыл бұрын
surprisingly effective. in areas where consistent rainfall should be expected matching greens seems to work well. Here in Texas, I would recommend using a tan or brown primary camo because the natural green colors are never consistent. our weather is too damn wacky to expect a 'normal' green color. i also enjoy the 'russian hoods' as I call them.

It's amazing how effective a two color pattern can be, even when you were mobile you were difficult to spot. Another example of an effective two color pattern is Rhodesian "babyshit" camo. Awhile back I painted my fn fal in the pattern and if you lay it in the bushes, grass or any foliage for that matter it disappears when you get within ten feet of it.

In the shadows the light color really seems to blend. But the second any light hits it the bright pattern turns almost fluorescent. It would be great to see that smock design with other patterns because the shape of it seems to be some of the effectiveness,as also suggested by other folk. Berezka klmk silver leaf,Rhodesian brushstroke and Atacs fg(all patterns youve tested)would be good comparisons id like to see.

@throatnotchingtroutzzz67896 жыл бұрын
I think really effective for the simplicity. But I must say, after watching your videos and other videos, where they do more zooming in and out on longer distances, that most camouflage only works on short distances. At some point, it becomes a "mono color" or "single color" blob or spot, as all the colors in the camo blend together for the viewer. Must be something with the particular light waves reflected from the fabric mixing together, and confusing the eye / brain????? Not a physicist, energy chemist, or like that. Of cause scopes and binoculars are "artificial short distances" and that is of cause important for soldiers. I just mean. Depending on, what you need, one can consider, if a Makro pattern is the best, or a Micro pattern is the best, as Micro patterns might be best at short distances, eg. for bow hunting and so, but turns "mono-color" at shorter distances than Makro patterns. On the other hand, Makro- patterns might stand out more, at very short distances, but may uphold an actual camouflage effect for a longer distance, than a Micro pattern. Like Multicam eg. at 50 yards / 45 meters eg. not many can see all the small details in the pattern, as one can close up, without binoculars. On the other hand, something (more Makro pattern type) like a Gorka suit (with different colored reinforcement panels on it, in some places) or this Amoeba pattern might still have some sort of break up effect at this 50 yard/45 meter distance, but stand more out on eg. 10 yards/ 9 meters. Eg. Just my opinion / thoughts at least. So as said on this channel. Camouflage is specific. Some try a combination, Micro pattern and Makro pattern in one, like Pencott and Kryptek, IMHO they do. If that works, people must judge for them selves. Nice day!!! A video where they zoom in and out. Russian camouflages even (and channel): kzbin.info/www/bejne/o2XYZ6Chj8aVmK8 Another video (Ukrainian channel??), western camouflages: kzbin.info/www/bejne/eV7GZ6lspph5mZY
