Good video. I like that you explained what each airflow parameter does not just that it should be changed.

The RussK Idle config is what I used to dial in my Idle after installing a Sloppy Stage 2 cam on my LQ4 ls engine, it worked well. It was pretty hard to find the files about 4 months ago, Glad you posted them on your site. Thanks for all your hard work, great videos keep it up.

Chris nka thanks, yeah this method seems to work well. I might need to do it again though as I’m still having a slight issue, when the engine is stone cold, the engine stalls when I put it into gear so I still have a bit of work to do. Works great after it’s been running for a minute or two though.

Same cam and I am getting nonsense values from the log. It wanted me to drop my idle airflow at 100*C to 1.5. Truck wouldn't start unless I pedaled it, then it took forever to idle. Then I did it again and it wanted me to go back up to 5.5 which was better than 1.5 but worse than not touching it.

good job, love how you showed, demonstrated and troubleshot the Friction Airflow and the Startup Airflow settings and parameters, showing us what the different results will be rather than just talking about theory

Hey Man,you do a great video,even i could understand you perfectly. The sound of the motor was perfect. Even if i was a blind man i could tell by the sound that the motor was starting better every time you made an adjustment. 10 out of 10 mate. keep up the great work & i am looking forward to see more.

Russ Kemp is a bright dude. Been in the LS world for a long time

Russ Kemp tuned my car! I asked him why he didn't use a dyno with eddy brake. He told me he didn't need one. He was right. My car runs awesome, both drivability and wide open throttle. He does this all with 3rd gear wide open throttle pulls. We went 7 times before he was satisfied.
@LowbuckLS5 жыл бұрын
coarsegrind nice, yes he seems like a super smart guy although I don’t know him personally. Interesting that he didn’t need a dyno to do the tuning.

Hey bud your video was done almost a year ago, so you may know this already or maybe not. To save you a bunch of typing in scanner open up editor then go to the table that you need the labels from and right click the top left square of the table a pop-up will show then scroll down to the bottom and select Column or Row Axis and then another pop-up will open to the right select Copy Labels. Go back into scanner and then do the same thing right click the field and select paste. Walla done, no more typing a string of numbers in.

Do we have to do anything special to run this? I.E. disabling adaptives? Or is it something I can hookup to my current tune, scan, and edit?

On the graph layout the STIT+LTIT Gear graph view window is set to last view. The rest of them PN, Gear, Desired airflow LTFT+STFT are all set to average view. Does it matter or make any difference where the view window is set ? Thanks for the vids they are a lot of help
@LowbuckLS5 жыл бұрын
Busa0069 they should all be on average, I must have missed that

So you made changes then put the back to the as found file? What changes were actual then? Progress was made changing the decay rate, startup initial and delay tables.

@LowbuckLS9 ай бұрын
I haven’t done this process on a DBW truck. It should be similar but may look a little different in HP Tuners. My son just picked up an 05 Chevy so I’ve got a DBW truck to play around with now, but I’m working down in Texas/New Mexico for a while. Want to get back to making videos though.

So if you had just copied the friction values to the startup values you would have seen the same results. Why not just zero out one and use the other for all changes?
@LowbuckLS5 жыл бұрын
Boogaloo that’s kind of what I ended up doing, I left the friction values alone and just used the startup values to make adjustments. But yes I could have zeroed our the friction values, I just left them at what the came at from the factory.
@zero25835 жыл бұрын
@@LowbuckLS good info and glad you showed step by step what you were doing and it's results on the datalog. 👍 My truck is a grumpy thing on cold start and I can't even drive it until it gets to operating temps. It wont bother trying to buck or anything below 40°F but if i warm the ECT sensor with a heat gun to above 40F it begins to buck then dies until I crank at it several times. These must be all the areas in my tune that are all out of line.
@LowbuckLS5 жыл бұрын
I would try playing with the desired idle airflow in the colder part of the Base Running Idle airflow table. It probably needs more idle airflow at cold temperatures. But you also need to be careful because if you put too big of a number in the table it won’t like that either.

How in the fuck are we supposed to find out how to do startup if you literally dont show how to set it up
